What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

I like this kind of environment for studying. I didn't feel or face any bad about uni untill now. As an international student I thought that I am find some difficulties in communicating with others but I was wrong. My studies it challenging, but I love it.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

Everything about UoB is great! Especially being an international student, UoB has provided me with a sense of warmth and welcoming and has created an environment that feels like a home away from home. The exposure we have as university students to the field of careers is amazing. And the university also has an amazing careers connect team that provide one-to-one support from mock interviews to CV reviews. The academic faculty is filled with professors who are experts in their chosen fields.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

The placement of the campus is great with lots of food establishments both on campus and around, making it easier to study for longer at the library. It is also close to both elephant and castle and Southwark underground stations so the commute is simple. Most of the buildings are modern and have a spacious feel, although I would like to add that I was underwhelmed by the business school as it seems slightly outdated compared to the rest of the university facilities. The staff are great and I have had great teaching along with materials so far. I would have preferred lecture theatres for my lectures to encourage me to attend as I enjoyed this experience at the previous university I attended, and so this has given it a more “high school” feel rather than university which is disappointing.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

The students are easy to converse with, everyone is very friendly and welcoming and I felt that ever since I entered the university (on my first day elder students could see I was lost and I didn’t even have to ask to help they could just see and offered a helping hand and I really appreciated it). The facilities live up to the standard of top 20 in the country and directions are clear around the campus so it’s easy to find where you want to go.

I think SOAS is a university that focuses on very inclusive and high-value programmes for society, but sometimes it needs to exercise these same factors in its management system. They also need a bit more order in some administrative processes.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

I love the fact that they teach us in a small class and that we get to work together with different people. If I struggle with work and stuff it isn't hard to reach out to my lecturer or my classmates because we all feel happy towards eachother when we help one another. I think the university can improve itself like they could build more places where people can have privacy . There are hubs and they also have seats outside . We cant sit in other rooms because most of the time its occupied and during free time I would rather sit with my friends in a room ourselves. And the canteen needs to being some real food like there are 3 building yet theres only one café. And the prices need to be a little bit low

The 24 hour liabry does help a lot and this university is good when it comes to understanding external stressors and being mindful of them and it is a good uni for understanding learning disabilities, compared to others. Could be improved with telling all students what's available there a lot that is available but isn't to easy to find the information etc global citizens schemes.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

I think the lecturers are great and there’s lots of good support for students with support plans. However, I think I would benefit from weekly (instead of fortnightly) seminars as I feel as if I do not get to properly engage in fortnightly seminars.

What students say about social-work-people-with-disabilities

University of Hull has a beautiful and serene environment suitable for learning and even relaxing. The lecturers are very warm and receptive. Things that could be improved: student union (I don’t really see what they do, I’m sorry); the university should make arrangements with more landlords in order to make students living easier; Timetable should be more flexible (we asked for a change in my department but nothing was done)
