Teaching staff are approachable and mostly kind but can be a little dismissive with questions that may seem ‘easy-to-find-answers’ about. Campus has a big library with lots of availability and great for learning during off peak hours but can be very challenging during events/exams. Student service is also very reliable but often show you how to get help, but not necessarily a direct route (some cases). No ‘scouting’ of people who may be interested in sports without it feeling difficult on students. Clubs are available but no real friendly games/matches with people of all varying skill (Ziggurat is good but only 1 sport a week - if someone enjoyed football, they’d only be involved maybe once for that year). Course content can be extremely difficult to manage. Can always be told how to manage by teaching staff but never get told how to manage time. Lectures can be 2 hours (back-back) and that can be emotionally and mentally exhausting (mostly dealt with by the university but some courses still have 2 hour blocks)

I love the support and population diversity. No discrimination and lovely place. The improving part, should be the student housing. They should be available during weekends. Best parts: access to loads of learning materials Worst parts: not much free activities, communication with student union isn’t great so I tend to miss out on activities which impacts my social life and mental health Also the school doesn’t provide support with finding a placement

I think the University of Essex has a good campus. It’s well maintained and beautiful, most importantly as someone who commutes it’s easy to access with multiple bus stops which are convenient. I think my philosophy aspect of my course is fantastic, always supportive and very easy to communicate with! Law here is also fantastic. There’s many great study facilities, I’m finding more each day! I also think the student union is great here! Very interactive even for a commuter.

I come from Madagascar, an island located in the Southern African region in the Indian Ocean. In my country, English is the third language, with French as the second, and Malagasy as our local official language. Additionally, Madagascar is one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. I earned my Master's degree in Theology from our national theological faculty before pursuing a second Master's level course at the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide (CCCW). I am deeply grateful and honored to have been admitted here, and I extend my thanks to the CCCW Board for this opportunity. My journey at CCCW has been marked by several meaningful experiences: Despite my background, I have never felt excluded. I am welcomed as part of the community, and my classmates are genuinely understanding and supportive. English proficiency is required for students from countries where English is not the first language. I am deeply thankful to my professors and classmates for their patience, as they recognize both my efforts and my progress in achieving academic-level English. I have never felt judged, and I am committed to improving daily. Lastly, the support, guidance, and attention from the professors have been invaluable. I truly admire their dedication and the advice they offer as they assist us throughout our studies.
