What students say about regional-planning

The faculty, and academics are great, and the rankings of the course lives upto the course that gets taught. The industry of the university is amazing, with the connect with each individual faculty is also very commendable. The student life can be improved within the campus.

What students say about regional-planning

Beautiful campus! Feels very picturesque and as if you are surrounded by green space and nature, yet it is a short walk or bus journey into the city. The student support is very good if you do need it, along with the quality of teaching and resources available online e.g. moodle. The location is good, it is close to London and yet also close to beaches in Kent, with Canterbury being the middle ground as it is a smaller place than london, yet is a city with many students and everything you need.

What students say about regional-planning

I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials.

What students say about regional-planning

The uni has many things to do and looks good in some parts however in other parts it looks like a sea of concrete which is not my style. I have plenty of free time however sometimes I will have a large gap in my day which I have to fill and often my friends timetable is not aligned with my friends which is annoying especially since I do not live on campus. Lastly I have sone lectures at 9 which is frustrating since I have to commute in early in rush hours. However all these problems are quite pretty and the only large concern I have about uni is the loan and the likelyhood of my degree being worth it in terms of finding a well paid and highly personally rewarding job.

Best thing is the fantastic 24/7 library that's not just resourceful but also incredibly welcoming with even overnight snacks there for those who spend their time at the library at night! I wish the university had more student accommodation on offer for the international students.

What students say about regional-planning

My experience at University of Brighton confidently prepared me for the future and allowed me to discover the best version of myself. Living in such a creative and vibrant city made every day feel like an adventure, and studying in Brighton offered the perfect balance between academic growth and an exciting student lifestyle. As an international student, feeling a sense of belonging was essential, and Brighton exceeded my expectations. From the very first day, the university’s welcoming and inclusive community made me feel at home. The international orientation programme was especially valuable, helping me form some of my closest friendships and making the transition to university life in the UK far less stressful than I had anticipated. The level of student support available throughout my degree was exceptional. Whether navigating academic challenges or personal concerns and exploring future opportunities , I always felt guided rather than overwhelmed. My student support guidance tutor and academic tutor were consistently available, offering help with assignments and regularly checking in on my wellbeing to ensure I was having a positive student experience. This personalised approach helped me stay motivated, confident, and supported at every stage of my studies. Career development was embedded into my student experience from the very beginning. The careers and employability team supported me in creating my first CV in my first year, securing part-time work in the city, and gaining clarity about my long-term goals. Even after graduating, their continued guidance has helped me align my interests with meaningful career opportunities, demonstrating the university’s genuine investment in its students’ futures. Beyond academics, student societies were central to my experience at Brighton. Through joining different societies, I was able to explore my interests outside the classroom, build friendships across disciplines, and feel part of a wider, supportive student community. The connections I formed and the memories created through shared activities became some of the most meaningful and rewarding parts of my university experience. Having access to three distinct campuses across the city further enriched my experience. The City Campus offered a creative and cosmopolitan environment, surrounded by Brighton’s thriving arts and social scene. Moulsecoomb Campus provided a more urban and academic atmosphere, conveniently positioned between the city centre and Falmer. Falmer Campus felt like a traditional campus university, with expansive green spaces, a strong sense of community, excellent facilities, and the Amex Stadium nearby, creating a unique blend of campus life and local pride. Across all campuses, the facilities are well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with excellent access to libraries, study spaces, and up-to-date equipment that support both academic success and student wellbeing. Reflecting on my overall experience, the University of Brighton offered far more than a degree. It provided a supportive environment in which I could grow academically, professionally, and personally, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to students seeking a university that truly invests in their development.

What students say about regional-planning

I just loved the course and most importantly its flexibility with the online platform. As a working mother it was like the golden opportunity to develop my career at the right place with the right people and the perfect time. The result was just amazing, I graduated with the classification of Merit, and 2 years later established my own firm based in Beirut. I am now handling projects for high profile multinational firms operating in the region. I strongly recommend UCEM as one of the most flexible educational systems for personal and career development in the build environment.

What students say about regional-planning

I love all the student deals. However, I feel like many of the student activity processes could be streamlined as it seems so overwhelming as a foreigner/first-year. Like, having to book a ticket, but then still waiting in line or an event being overbooked via ticketing that people are dissuaded to come. Then, when the event takes place, the ticket holders don’t even come.

What students say about regional-planning

Studying at University of the West of England is a good experience overall. One of the best aspects is the focus on practical learning and employability, with many courses offering projects and placement opportunities that prepare students for real jobs. The campus facilities, including the library and study spaces, are modern and comfortable. Bristol is also a lively student city with plenty of things to do. However, accommodation in Bristol can be quite expensive, and communication from some departments could be improved, especially regarding deadlines and feedback. Overall, it’s a supportive and diverse environment, particularly welcoming for international students.

What students say about regional-planning

The best thing would be making new friends from different cultures while learning life skills that will help you in life. The worst, I would say not having the Messy Monday, which does not go ahead anymore, which would make it hard for people to socialise and make new friends
