The student village is so close to the main campus. The campus is very nuclear, and you never have to walk more than about 5-10 minutes to get to your next lecture. There are so many different cafes on campus. It's so close to the sea and the city centre. Really good transport routes- close to buses and the train station. The facilities are really modern, especially for healthcare. There's loads of support in place for students both emotionally and academically. To improve I would say maybe more tutorials earlier on in the year wth personal tutors, and perhaps society events in the first couple weeks that are alcohol free and not at night.

Its a lovely campus feel, nice and small so you know everyone and everyone knows you. Feels very safe. However transport to and from campus isn't great and parking is difficult and expensive. Student support is okay but could be better, for example more funding to help people who need more support but who don't qualify for whatever reason for DSA support. Accommodation services could be more dynamic, and the students union are not great at catering to healthcare courses, for example we are here most of the year but they only run during term time which can feel quite isolating.

Since the university is so centrally located, there are so many things to do within a 10-20 minute walk, whether it is going to the library, bank, parks, market, or the Quayside. The student support is great. There are a lot of resources available to get help from when you are facing difficulties with your academics or personal life. There is a ton of flexibility and alternative arrangements for assessments and exams. The Student Union is insanely active. Lots of activities organized every week, with a ton of promotion on social media, so you always know what's happening on and off campus.

The best aspects of university experience often include: Academic opportunities: Universities offer diverse academic programs, research opportunities, and access to knowledgeable professors. Social life: University provides a platform for meeting people from various backgrounds, forming friendships, and engaging in extracurricular activities. Personal growth: University challenges individuals to step out of their comfort zones, develop critical thinking skills, and gain independence. Networking: Universities often host events and facilitate networking opportunities, which can be beneficial for future career prospects. Resources: From libraries to laboratories, universities provide access to resources that support academic and personal growth. On the other hand, some common drawbacks or areas for improvement in university experiences include: Financial burden: Tuition fees and living expenses can be overwhelming for many students. Mental health support: Many universities struggle to provide adequate mental health resources and support services for students. Administrative inefficiencies: Bureaucratic processes and red tape can sometimes hinder students' ability to navigate academic and administrative tasks smoothly. Diversity and inclusion: Some universities may lack diversity and fail to create inclusive environments for all students. Career support: While universities offer career services, there is often room for improvement in terms of job placement assistance and career guidance tailored to individual student needs.

Novel educational techniques that train you to answer real world problems, providing good facilities for students. It provides so many facilities to students. The education system is based on individual learning experiences which can help students to develop their skills using all the facilities provided. In term of improvement there’s so many different cultures. If there’s more opportunities for students to mix and get to know each other it will be better.

The best aspects of university include opportunities for intellectual growth and exploration. There’s access to a range of diverse resources to engage in hands on research and practical experiences to enhance my career prospects. Social life is rich and is definitely one of the best things about uni! I have met people from various backgrounds and cultures which had helped me broaden my perspective and increase my confidence. The worst aspects of uni life is probably something that is not often mentioned - the competitive nature of university which sometimes makes me feel inadequate and have a little imposter syndrome, especially as I sometimes have financial and environmental constraints which cause me to not have an equal chance at achieving my potential.

University of Birmingham is located in an excellent location with good transport links to the whole of the UK. It supports an array of state of the art facilities in a campus which feels like home. Home to the Commonwealth Games 2022, the sports facilities are fantastic, and the campus is only a short bus ride from Edgbaston cricket grounds. We even have an art gallery and archeology museum! Selly Oak nearby has everything you could ask for as a student, including Circo! Student services provide great well being support, providing free counselling services and also an anonymous platform to discuss concerns at any time. The guild supports some of the biggest and best societies in the UK and you'll certainly find something that intrigues you! The only thing that feels lacking at times is the teaching and the engagement of lecturers with the cohort. Courses are still taught to the highest academic level, but the student experience could be greatly improved by greater co-operation with students. There is also little opportunity for research studentships etc at the University, and this is something you may have to look beyond for.

I had the pleasure of studying at the university for 4 years learning from lecturers that were second to none in their knowledge of procurement, logistics and supply chain management. Despite the onset of COVID I had the much needed support during this time to continue my studies and even during my transition back into university. While partaking in the course I was also given the opportunity to take a work placement which allowed me to gain much needed experience and massively helped me to achieve a jumpstart in my career, whereby I am now currently employed full time in a role that enables me to manage a wide variety of Professional services and ICT products.

The campus and people here are lovely. Student support could be a little better especially with our lecturers. They prefer for students to not email them or get in touch rather discuss on the discussion boards

Best parts = The School of Management Building is a fantastic place to work and network with like-minded individuals. Also, the SU is brilliant for similar reasons and the library is a great location to concentrate. Playing sport is incredibly fun too at the University's fantastic facilities. Worst part = The bus journey to campus from Oldfield can be very tedious and difficult. Some buses get cancelled and the journey can be heavily delayed.
