My experience at London South Bank University has been overwhelmingly positive, and I truly believe it is a great place to study and grow as a student. One of the best aspects of LSBU is the supportive and approachable staff. Lecturers and academic advisors are always willing to help, whether it’s explaining difficult coursework, giving career advice, or providing guidance during assignments. Their friendly attitude creates a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their studies. Another major strength of LSBU is its focus on practical, career-oriented learning. The university provides modern labs, well-equipped classrooms, and industry-standard facilities that help students gain real-world experience. For many courses, practical sessions, workshops, and hands-on projects make learning more engaging and directly relevant to future careers. This practical approach is one of the main reasons LSBU graduates are well-prepared for the workforce. The location is also a huge advantage. Being in Central London means students have easy access to internships, part-time jobs, networking events, and professional opportunities. Public transport links around the campus are excellent, which makes commuting simple and convenient. Additionally, studying in such a vibrant, diverse city exposes you to many cultures and experiences that broaden your perspective and personal growth. LSBU is also known for its diversity. Students come from many different backgrounds and countries, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. Interacting with a wide range of people enriches both academic and social life, and helps build strong communication skills and global awareness. The Students’ Union plays an important role in making campus life enjoyable. They organise events, clubs, and societies that help students socialise, develop hobbies, and take breaks from academic pressure. From cultural celebrations to academic workshops and sports activities, the SU offers something for everyone. It also supports student welfare and actively listens to student concerns. While my experience has been largely positive, there are a few areas that could be improved to make the university experience even better. Administrative processes, such as timetabling or enrollment updates, can sometimes be slow or unclear. Improved communication and faster responses would make things easier for students, especially during busy periods like the start of term. Additionally, although the accommodations are comfortable and close to campus, they can be quite expensive because of the London location. More affordable housing options would be very helpful for students on a tight budget. Lastly, while LSBU already hosts a number of events, increasing the number of career-oriented workshops, industry meetups, and networking sessions would make a big difference. These events help students make valuable connections and understand the professional world more deeply. Overall, London South Bank University offers a strong combination of academic support, practical teaching, modern facilities, and an excellent central London location. The friendly atmosphere, diversity, and active student life create a positive and motivating environment for learning. With a few improvements in communication and affordability, the university could provide an even better experience. Despite those small areas for development, LSBU remains a great place to study, grow, and prepare for future opportunities

I love all the student deals. However, I feel like many of the student activity processes could be streamlined as it seems so overwhelming as a foreigner/first-year. Like, having to book a ticket, but then still waiting in line or an event being overbooked via ticketing that people are dissuaded to come. Then, when the event takes place, the ticket holders don’t even come.

Portsmouth University is in a great location- I really love the proximity to the sea! It is a very walkable city so university buildings are really easy to get too. Overall, I have found the student support exceptional, particularly when needing help from disability student advice. They really want you to succeed. There are also so many opportunities to meet new people in societies and sports clubs. To improve, maybe timetables could be arranged so that students get guaranteed days off to work a part time job?

Coming from India, the decision to move to the UK for my Masters was something I thought about for a long time. It's a huge step financially, emotionally, everything. You second guess yourself constantly. But honestly, choosing the University of Kent for my MSc in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management is something I will never stop being grateful for. I remember landing and thinking okay, is this actually going to be worth it? Within the first few weeks, that question answered itself. The campus is gorgeous, Canterbury is such a lovely city to actually live in, and getting to London in an hour whenever I needed a break from studying became one of my favourite things about being here. The course itself is brilliant. Really practical, globally focused, and the lecturers actually have real industry experience which makes such a difference. It's not just theory, you come out feeling like you actually understand how global supply chains work in the real world. But what got me most was how looked after I felt. As an Indian student so far from home, there are days that are just hard. Missing family, adjusting to a new culture, managing everything alone. Kent's support system is genuinely there for you not just on paper. People check in, people care, and that means everything when you're thousands of miles from home. I came to Kent for a degree and I'm leaving with so much more than that. If you're sitting anywhere right now wondering whether to take the leap — take it, because Kent is worth every bit of it.

Tight schedule and lot of material to cover, but apart from that the staff and lecturers are on board with everything. Demanding but very helpful and approachable. Great facilities and support from every site.

The best aspects of my university experience have been the sense of community and the opportunities for personal and academic growth. My course is taught by passionate lecturers who make the subject feel relevant and engaging, and I’ve appreciated how approachable most staff are when I need help. There are also plenty of extracurricular activities and societies, which made it easy to meet people with similar interests. The campus facilities—like the library, study spaces, and wellbeing services—have also been a big part of what makes it a great place to study. In terms of what could be improved, there are a few key areas. Communication between departments could sometimes be clearer, especially around deadlines and timetable changes. At busy times of the year, access to study spaces can become limited, and more quiet areas or longer opening hours would make a difference. It would also help if there were more practical, hands-on learning opportunities such as placements, workshops, or industry links, as these really enhance understanding and employability. Overall, the university offers a supportive and stimulating environment, but with better organisation and more resources during peak periods, the student experience could be even stronger.
