Non-Industrial Design postgraduate degrees in Southern England

At Middlesex University London, one of the best aspects of my experience has been the diverse and international learning environment. It helped me improve my communication skills and gain global exposure. The teaching approach is practical and career-focused, with real-world projects that enhanced my technical and analytical abilities. The lecturers are supportive and approachable. One of the more challenging aspects has been administrative processes, such as fee and scholarship-related matters, which sometimes require follow-ups. Additionally, managing academic deadlines can be demanding. However, these challenges have improved my time management and problem-solving skills.

There are amazing facilities and the staff are always willing to help as long as you ask them. Opportunities are there but you have to go out of your way to take them, once you do you will have the best time.

I love my course and the friends I’ve made down here and student life is great the facilities are great. I particularly like going to ravelin as it’s really modern and has so much to do there other than the gym like the climbing wall which is really fun. There’s lots of societies to pick and choose from and quite a few are free which is really appreciated considering how expensive everything has become. The biggest obstacle aside from assessments is affordability. My accommodation is extortionate and leaves little left to cover the basics or going out. Which is really frightening because I’d like to join some sport societies but most of them do require a paid membership

The campus is absolutely gorgeous! A wonderful mix of old and new, castles and modern buildings. Reserving rooms encourages students to get out of their rooms and study anywhere on campus, from the top of the castle tower, to the communal "pods" at Commons. The Student Union building has a bar and a small shop, and activities going on almost every day. Karaoke every other Saturday is one of my favourites. Close enough to the city of Bath for easy access, while still having the feeling of a university town. Lots of student discounts and student bars/clubs in town, as the University of Bath is also nearby. Interesting classes, lovely lecturers and guest lecturers, and proper assessments. Few, if not none, tests, allowing for those who do not thrive with simple memorization to show off how they learn. The diversity of students encourages the broadening of your own world view. A wide range of courses, allowing for study into incredibly specific topics. The main issue with the university is the wait time for wellbeing appointments, as it can take up to four months to even get a foot in the door. This means that if you do need help, it is very difficult to achieve. Also, while it isn't the university's fault, it is important to know that the First Bus system is not very reliable, so if you have a job in town, it is quite nerve-wracking.

Firstly, The University of Gloucestershire is a great place to study because of strong teaching quality and excellent academic support. Secondly, lt could improve in some areas like providing a greater consistency across courses and modules, enhancing placement and career opportunities, and more support for international students.

Worst is the limited contact time with professors. It feels really rushed which is unfortunate because there is so much to discover here and it becomes stressful when we feel like cattle who must be rushed in and out. The university itself is fantastic though. It’s incredibly inspiring to walk through the workshops, lecture halls, and library- it feels like you’re in the center of the world. Everything is state of the art and the staff is phenomenal. I just wish they cut less corners in terms of students’ ability to engage with it all.

Queen mary is an amazing university with a rather healthy and comfortable environment. Although they possess an impeccable program and reputation, I believe as a student that sometimes student support could be stronger.

There should be more support for international students, the lack of staff specialized on matter regarding visas and financial support for international students makes the whole university experience feel more overwhelming and stressful.
