I am in my first year of studying with IDI for a BA (Hons) in Photography. Please bear in mind that when reading this review that it is via distance learning through the internet so some of the star ratings are not applicable but I had to rate them.I had looked around for distance learning photography degrees for a long time before deciding that IDI looked like the best option for me.The admissions process was straight forward and I did not need to go through UCAS. The staff were very helpful and very quick at answering any questions and dealing with my application. I had also made enquiries with local universities and colleges for the same course to study on a part time basis and just getting answers from those to simple questions was like pulling teeth so quite the opposite to IDI. From submitting my application to getting my place confirmed took less than a couple of days. The on-line learning environment is excellent. The course notes are easy to follow and well structured and you actively participate in discussions and debates with your peers by using on-line forums which substitute for the classroom/lecture environment and work well. The tutors are excellent and are always there to hand in you need some guidance, for feedback on your assessments and answering questions that you may have. The responses in my experience have always been relevant to you and your work rather than for the masses so is very personal too. There are also excellent student support teams and technical support teams too.Overall I am highly delighted with the course and IDI in particular and know that I made the right choice when selecting them to study with and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to study in a flexible way.

I love the city in general. The University's libraries are good. with proper facilities that I can use, such as discussion rooms, computers, printers, even 3D printer! Some buildings look so old but in positive ways, make them look classic and cultured. However, in my own experience, some classrooms are a little bit aged. i mean, like some chairs are feel old, they are sometimes kind of wobbly, and some of them do not have enough leg room. Main library can be crowded when exam days come, but I think that is something that can not be avoided. i think it is good to add some space for classrooms or some like study hubs.

I feel that I have still learned a lot, but many of the assessments have been changed from practice assessments to essays or tests. I just can’t wait to be on campus because I know it will be so much better. I can’t give a proper opinion until I see what everything is like for myself

The atmosphere at this university is great! The union is always lively, with pool and darts, hot food, music and lots of room for socialising. Even when in class it feels great, the lectures are always informative and the seminars mean that the tutors can really help and talk to the students. I like the fact that each semester the students can choose their own seminar times, creating a timetable that suits their schedule. The location of this university is one of my favourite things, such a close walk to the main shopping street and some great places for food. Also close to to GCU which is great as the students can mix and hang out together. Overall this university is a great place to apply and i am very happy with the decision i made!
