The best aspect is the location, smallish campus and town makes for a great sense of community. Close proximity to London and great town centre with safe nightlife. The worst aspect is the campus aesthetic, not pretty as most of it seems to have been built at once in a brutalist style. This being said, the greenspace by the lake is lovely and the rest of campus is easily navigable.

The university’s library offers a wealth of resources and quiet study zones, and also collaborative workspaces. I value the 24/7 access during critical periods; everything I need to support my learning is available. loanable laptops and specialized software, it supports cutting-edge research. Ideal for self-driven learners valuing adaptability and hands-on support. The staff are knowledgeable and the librarians go above and beyond to assist with research, and academic advisors provide personalized guidance to help navigate projects.

WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

The placement of the campus is great with lots of food establishments both on campus and around, making it easier to study for longer at the library. It is also close to both elephant and castle and Southwark underground stations so the commute is simple. Most of the buildings are modern and have a spacious feel, although I would like to add that I was underwhelmed by the business school as it seems slightly outdated compared to the rest of the university facilities. The staff are great and I have had great teaching along with materials so far. I would have preferred lecture theatres for my lectures to encourage me to attend as I enjoyed this experience at the previous university I attended, and so this has given it a more “high school” feel rather than university which is disappointing.
