Languages postgraduate degrees in Southern England

There should be more support for international students, the lack of staff specialized on matter regarding visas and financial support for international students makes the whole university experience feel more overwhelming and stressful.

Why do you let school kids into the UNIVERSITY library ? There is a public library 5 mins away, they don’t understand any library etiquette, I’m trying to revise for my fourth year medicine exams and they are chatting on level 5?! And let’s not even get started on level 4 which is meant to be a silent level, sounds like a socialising cafe during exam season. If you’re going to let them in , at least enforce the rules of silent study or say they can only go on one floor. They’re not paying 10K a year so how come they can use the library facilities and disrupt the people who do pay?

Generally a great collection of faculty and always researching for ways to be more sustainable and inclusive. could be better in providing resources for students in healthcare degrees as career development opportunities are all surrounding corporate career

Most of the lecturers are great and very talented. But I would say the first year is very intense in terms of pace and the amount of content for each lecture so a little overwhelming. There’s a large amount of neuroscience and stats. Feedback can be a bit vague. There are societies and sport clubs. I tried a few societies but found them cliquey but others like them. Can’t comment on SUbas I’m a commuter and never been. The location of the uni is pretty isolated and boring. I’m a commuter but would feel bored living in Egham. It just feels like a village and is a 2 mile round walk. The uni is next to an A road and the walk up the hill is dodgy (narrow path). The people here tend to be on the posh side. I do think the campus and library is pretty, there’s a good library and teaching quality is good.

It's very chill , in central london and the subjects are very interesting and decolonial. The lecturers are very good at what they do. It is lacking in huge university events and festivals with most being arranged by societies very rarely.

Best aspects: * Meeting people from different backgrounds and making new friends. * Learning new skills and gaining knowledge in my course. * Access to university facilities such as the library, study spaces, and student support services. * Opportunities to join clubs, societies, and campus activities. Worst aspects: * The cost of living and financial pressures. * Stress from coursework, deadlines, and exams. * Difficulty finding affordable accommodation. * Some administrative processes can be slow or confusing.

Worst is the limited contact time with professors. It feels really rushed which is unfortunate because there is so much to discover here and it becomes stressful when we feel like cattle who must be rushed in and out. The university itself is fantastic though. It’s incredibly inspiring to walk through the workshops, lecture halls, and library- it feels like you’re in the center of the world. Everything is state of the art and the staff is phenomenal. I just wish they cut less corners in terms of students’ ability to engage with it all.

I love all the student deals. However, I feel like many of the student activity processes could be streamlined as it seems so overwhelming as a foreigner/first-year. Like, having to book a ticket, but then still waiting in line or an event being overbooked via ticketing that people are dissuaded to come. Then, when the event takes place, the ticket holders don’t even come.
