It is a great place to study because its in a big city. Liverpool is very diverse interms of people food and culture. The student support is good and the website is very user friendly for anything one might be looking for. In terms of improvement, it think the university could offer more opportunities for partime jobs to international students

The University Location is great for those who aren't fussed about city life as it is in a quiet location. I found the environment and facilities great throughout the years. The mental health team could be better, the SU can be challenging to get appointments with and the wellbeing team can be unprofessional which I didn't expect especially now there is a Mental Health Charter Award. Accessibility have been amazing though if I ever have an issues or need help with DSA related issues.

It is great as there are a lot of green zones, a lot of parks, etc. There are a lot of students and it’s easy to make friends. The bad part is that the amount of coursework doesn’t let me totally enjoy all of the amenities

I was in the Bedford campus and the student life was limited. This was because many people travelled into uni from their homes. The student union was great at providing activities in the afternoons/ evenings. They also support students. all you have to do is email them or go to social events.

The uni is great, the staff are kind and helpful. Because it’s in the city, I have issues with transport and parking, it would be great if they had a free facility for staff and students only. I think they are lacking in the amount of social activities, I wouldn’t say it’s a party university. Apart from that, there’s lots of great study spaces and the technical team are great and very knowledgeable.

The best part of my experience has been the practical approach to learning and the diverse student community, which made it easy to meet people and gain different perspectives. The course helped me build useful, real-world skills. On the downside, some areas could be better organised, and communication at times could be improved. University of Greenwich focuses a lot on diversity and inclusion. There are a lot of services available in relation to that, wellbeing, inclusion plans and other things to make your experience at the University more manageable/enjoyable. There are plenty of opportunities for learning and discovering and I have felt right at home from the beginning. I tend to feel like an outsider but the environment and support here has been great. I tend to be an independent worker and both during my masters and now during my PhD I have gotten plenty of opportunity to work both with others and to work by myself. This helped me develop better team working and working with others but given me the space to choose how much I want to do independently myself. One aspect I have had repeated issues with is the fact that the university's beaurocracy is a very slow progres and I have had to wait extended periods of time for replies or help with different things in relation to application, registration, feedback & hierarchical matters.

The lectures in my course are very helpful and always get back to you when you have questions. We have good weeks timetabling where we have online lessons and in person and we start at a nice time as well which gives people time to travel. Our lectures give us PowerPoints which we can also look at when at home for more revision. The university is big and is a couple bus stops from train stations which is helpful as well. There is lots of places to get food and they have a wide variety of things.

Worst is the limited contact time with professors. It feels really rushed which is unfortunate because there is so much to discover here and it becomes stressful when we feel like cattle who must be rushed in and out. The university itself is fantastic though. It’s incredibly inspiring to walk through the workshops, lecture halls, and library- it feels like you’re in the center of the world. Everything is state of the art and the staff is phenomenal. I just wish they cut less corners in terms of students’ ability to engage with it all.
