The university has a great campus and student support is active in checking in on student’s mental health and providing support both for mental health and academic reasons. The society’s provide a great opportunity to socialise and improve student night life. However, the stud student union function more as a business than as a study body representation. They charge for hot water in the campus library, taking advantage of students that cannot afford basics as they are in need of money, themselves. They need more funding.

i love the facilities at this uni, the library and the teaching is great. there are many places for all types of students ,quiet or not, to go and the nightlife in the city is prety decent. it is quite affordable compared to other universitys close by. the societies are fantastic aswell. the university could improve on certain teaching aspects in the first year to ease us into how very independant it all is

I'm an optometry student entering my third year in September 2024. The lecturers are very nice and supportive; however, the optometry students in Group C are extremely rude, disrespectful, and lack any sort of manners. Many of them speak poorly of you if you fall behind or are slow in your routine, and they refuse to collaborate despite knowing that practice is essential for skill improvement.

Great aspects include: lecturer and academic support provided by all members of staff; an amazing library with good utilities; a great balance with a social aspect with the cyber lounge as well as a driven learning aspect. My experience at uni has been mostly positive. The course is engaging and the practical elements make it more interesting. Many lecturers are supportive and the facilities are helpful for studying. Studying at University of the West of England is a good experience overall. One of the best aspects is the focus on practical learning and employability, with many courses offering projects and placement opportunities that prepare students for real jobs. The campus facilities, including the library and study spaces, are modern and comfortable. Bristol is also a lively student city with plenty of things to do. However, accommodation in Bristol can be quite expensive, and communication from some departments could be improved, especially regarding deadlines and feedback. Overall, it’s a supportive and diverse environment, particularly welcoming for international students.

Improvements to the buildings are appriciated, some buildings feel disconnected from. Their old outside appearance, however I still would recommend the campus as one of the more good looking/appealing ones.
