Humanities postgraduate degrees in Northern England

The commute links are very convenient as someone who has to travel from peripheries of Manchester .St James campus is very arranged and plentiful spaces and resources for students like myself however I must say there isn’t much of a social aspect example societies or events going on I believe due to it not being Edge Hills main campus However since my course is placement based when we do arrive to campus we naturally socialise and she one another’s experiences .Overall Univeristy social aspect is amazing considering lots of places to go since on Oxford Road Would be nice to have some events or even go to Main campus as a whole

The focused student support is what makes it stand out. Because in the university there are not a lot of students and attention of the professor doesnt get divided. You can get personalised guidance and this thing is gold to grab more and more opportunities in your career.

Great social life, good options for student societies, a lot of student support. A lot of professionals teaching on the course and it gave me exactly what I wanted for my career progression into genetics

Best experience- I really like how employability focused the university is. I’m building lots of skills and it’s very clear how I can utilise this to get a placement and a graduate role. There are lots of platforms like LinkedIn learning and Forage that I can build my skills which I really find useful. Worst experience- there was no real introduction into the university. I was never told how to make notes on a laptop and basic applications I would need. It can be a big switch from college using all paper to university which is all virtual. I think there should have been an introduction for basics in university.

I am a remote learning student. I think there isn't as many interactive online sessions as I would have expected and the sessions there isn't a lot of class collaboration between students. However, support at university has been second to none, whenever I have got in touch with a department I have received a response within a working day.

UCLan is a great place to study because of its friendly staff, diverse student community, and excellent facilities like the library and sports centre. It provides strong academic and personal support. One area for improvement could be creating more study spaces during exam periods and adding more campus events to bring students together.

The facilities are great like the cafes, the gym, the libraries! The creative campus is close to the city which is great. The fact the gym is so accessible is amazing too. It could be improved by the buses timetable changing a little bit. Maybe more frequently if possible? Or the times changing so we get to the other campus at a different time. For example to go to my 2pm lesson I have to get the bus at 12:45 to get there at 1:10 and have a long wait. Maybe the bus could leave on the hour?

Small campus, nice walkable distance, great laboratory facilities. The university has an amazing School of Natural Sciences, greatly organised and variety of module choices as well as supportive staff. There’s currently lots of construction in 25/26, but otherwise the campus is lovely. Some departments in the uni could improve by allowing access to recorded lectures, as I find revisiting content after the lecture helps me process the information from the lecture.

The student report is great and really accessible for all different types of issues and problems you may need. Some of the buildings look quite dull, I would like if the lecture rooms had more windows.
