History postgraduate degrees in Southern England

Great location in London. Incredible research resources - love the library. So far, admin seems rushed, and unsure of what is going on. Several staff members have only been able to respond to important questions with 'I don't know'.

I am studying BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science at UWE Bristol as an international student. Overall, my experience has been positive. The labs and library are well-equipped, making it easy to study and do practical work. The campus feels welcoming, with nice green areas and easy access between buildings. Staff and student support are helpful when I need advice or guidance. The best part of my experience has been the practical sessions, which really help me understand what I learn in lectures. I also enjoy meeting people from different countries and cultures—it makes studying here more interesting. One area that could improve is communication and administration, as sometimes processes are slow. There could also be more social events on campus to help students connect. Despite these small issues, UWE Bristol is a great place to study, with strong facilities, good support, and a friendly environment for all students.

The best aspects are that the teachers are helpful and experienced and so it helps with learning, however there could be more help with exam resources such as more practice questions for the exam to get the most support

The actual university was fine. The new building has a lot of great facilities but some of them can only be used by people from that actual course. Sewing machines and work spaces can get really busy. Nice interior design and layout.

I attend UOG Francis Close Hall campus and it's so incredibly inspiring. It's a great oldy-worldy historical site and it was really the deal-breaker for me choosing UOG; although my course mates and I were severely let down when we were told we would have to move to Oxstalls campus in Gloucester... we managed to get the union involved but only managed to get it pushed back a year for us, all new students in September for social science will be in Oxstalls and won't get to experience the beauty of FCH. Such a shame. Despite this, the facilities are amazing, staff are equipped with great knowledge and are all incredibly friendly. All students are friendly and light-minded, it's a great environment to study in and socialise. I commute so I cannot speak on the social side of student accommodation and/or going out, but as a commuter it meets all my needs! I really recommend studying here, the lecturers know what they're talking about, and are amazing at illustrating theories and concepts in ways that make sense.

The layout of the campus is beautiful and lets in a lot of natural light which I like. Also my two favourite places, the sustainability cafe and the gym both offer great services. As for improvements, I’ve heard form friends that mental health support doesn’t respond to students concern with enough urgency.

The location in central London not far from where the UKs decisions are made is amazing. The library has most of the resources I need and if you can’t find something the library staff will happily try and make it available. The thing where the uni lets us down the most is admin.
