What students say about health-care-management

Missing the ‘normal’ uni experience but is what it is in these difficult times! The university have accommodated us as best as they can in these times and even provided the on site COVID testing which has been great. It’s been challenging not having the contact hours in respect to the nature of the degree but this could not be helped.

I think the best one is about how you learn more about the industry work, can easily get access to things and meet new friends that you might keep for life. Worst is when I start not going to lectures , the units become more complicating.

What students say about health-care-management

I attend UOG Francis Close Hall campus and it's so incredibly inspiring. It's a great oldy-worldy historical site and it was really the deal-breaker for me choosing UOG; although my course mates and I were severely let down when we were told we would have to move to Oxstalls campus in Gloucester... we managed to get the union involved but only managed to get it pushed back a year for us, all new students in September for social science will be in Oxstalls and won't get to experience the beauty of FCH. Such a shame. Despite this, the facilities are amazing, staff are equipped with great knowledge and are all incredibly friendly. All students are friendly and light-minded, it's a great environment to study in and socialise. I commute so I cannot speak on the social side of student accommodation and/or going out, but as a commuter it meets all my needs! I really recommend studying here, the lecturers know what they're talking about, and are amazing at illustrating theories and concepts in ways that make sense.

What students say about health-care-management

One of the best things about University of the West of England is how focused it is on getting you ready for an actual job. A lot of courses include placements or practical projects, so it doesn’t feel like you’re just learning theory for the sake of it. The campus (especially Frenchay) is really nice as well — modern buildings, loads of study spaces, and decent facilities. It’s pretty easy to find somewhere to work or just chill between lectures. Also, being in Bristol is a big win. There’s always something going on, whether it’s nightlife, food, or events, and it’s a good city for part-time jobs too. However, it’s not perfect. Organisation can be a bit all over the place sometimes — like timetable changes last minute or slow feedback on assignments, which gets frustrating. It can also depend a lot on your course or lecturers. Some modules are really good, others not so much, so it feels a bit inconsistent. And yeah, Bristol is expensive. Rent and general living costs can add up pretty quickly, which is something to be aware of.

What students say about health-care-management

Lovely nature-based campus and close-knit community feel, as it is so small compared to my undergrad in Bristol. The ecology department is amazing – kind and engaging lectures and guest lecturer seminars for wider context. Improvements – bus prices are high. It would be amazing if there was a full-size pool. Dance studio access for both Exeter and Falmouth students.

What students say about health-care-management

As an international Environmental Management student, my time at Plymouth has been defined by two things: academic freedom and incredible support. When I faced significant personal loss and financial struggles that impacted my attendance, the faculty didn't write me off they gave me the flexibility to recover and succeed. The course itself is far more than just exams. I was able to lead complex, consultancy-style projects (like my work on Singapore Heat Stress policies) that felt like real professional work, not just coursework. The resources in the Marine Building and library are top-tier for anyone willing to push themselves. Plymouth offers a rare balance: it challenges you intellectually to reach distinction levels, but supports you personally when life gets hard. Highly recommended for students who want resilience alongside their degree.

What students say about health-care-management

I enjoyed the course and it’s structure. I believe, that it set me up well for my research project and gave me the skills that employers are looking for. The worse aspect was the lack of time for activities outside of studying. Lectures and assignments took up most of the day and evening, especially during coursework and exam season.

What students say about health-care-management

Marjon has a really strong community feel, and its smaller size is a big part of that. There’s a genuine mix of ages and interests, which comes through in the range of activities and spaces available — the Students’ Union, chapel, theatre, and sports centre are all close together and easy to access. If anything could improve, it would be greater financial support at a wider level (e.g., government funding), so the university could invest in hiring more staff and strengthening provision further.
