The best is the people and the lecturers. The facilities are vast meaning support is available for many issues not only academic. The place that may need improvement is the social accepts as it may be hard to make connections for many.

The campus is easily accessible by bus and also offers a car park, getting to campus is so easy and convenient and the area is a lot quieter as it’s not central, they offer an app where you can earn points when you buy from the food places in the uni the points turn into money which u can then spend, the thing I found the hardest was getting around I would’ve enjoyed a tour on my first day it would’ve made me feel less nervous but the people at reception are happy to help the support from my lectures especially my personal tutor has been amazing I couldn’t have picked a uni more convenient for me.

The best aspect is the location, smallish campus and town makes for a great sense of community. Close proximity to London and great town centre with safe nightlife. The worst aspect is the campus aesthetic, not pretty as most of it seems to have been built at once in a brutalist style. This being said, the greenspace by the lake is lovely and the rest of campus is easily navigable.

The course curriculum is designed well to lay the foundations of various subjects in 1st sem, and we apply those learnings during our assignments and in the 2nd sem. It is more practical learning with hands-on approach on group projects and industry collaborations in the 2nd sem. The staffs are brilliant and incredibly supportive. There are lots of facilities and societies for extra curriculars. The university is situated near the city centre and so it is in a very good location. People in the town are very kind. Overall, I am having a great experience in the university.

The university needs to improve on student housing and accommodation as this part leaves international students in distress and affects their settling in. Greater emphasis in planning ahead and dissemination of information via student email and moodle on time so students can be informed on time of events, lectures or certain expectations they need to meet. I also suggest they create a platform or initiate a forum where students like student nurses actively participate and engage in RCN and professional programmes for developmental and career growth. Create more flexible and part time job opportunities for students as this reduces financial stress and fosters relationships between students and university staff

Couldn’t be happier to have picked SRUC for veterinary nursing! It’s very practical based and really hands on which I love a lot. The lecturers are lovely and in our online (for now) lectures they make sure to try and keep us engaged and give us breaks as they know online learning can be a bit difficult and most of all they try to make it fun! If you’re looking to do veterinary nursing in Scotland I’d definitely recommend SRUC - you might be a bit hesitant at first since it’s out in the countryside and not a city but it’s definitely worth it for the practical learning than you receive on farm etc.
