Obviously studying during the pandemic has been a challenge. The school does have a major issue with organisation and communication. However, I’ve met some great people through this course and had a lot of fun. We got to experience filmmaking modules as well as the acting modules which was a great opportunity.

Can’t believe I’m already in my final year of Biomedical Sciences at UEL . Feels like yesterday I was sitting by the riverside at Docklands during my foundation year, watching planes take off from City Airport, it was my little peaceful escape. This course has been such a blessing – from incredible labs and supportive lecturers to the Career Zone and Mental Wealth modules that gave me so much confidence . Being a Student Ambassador made my uni journey extra special (hello public speaking skills ), and the Indian Society always brought the most colourful vibes.. And the location? Perfect. Canary Wharf, the O2, Westfield Stratford – all just a quick ride away. Honestly, UEL has been a mix of learning, growing, and making unforgettable memories .

Studying at Raindance completely changed my career. When I joined I was a one-person filmmaker and had already made more than 100 short films, but not much visibility to others. My masters project short film was awarded 45 wins in festivals around the world. This success was due to the insightful mentoring from Raindance tutors, listening and working creatively with others, valuing research and feedback and deeply reflecting on my voice and goals. It was a pleasure to work this such a brilliant and diverse team on a film that was so meaningful to me. I feel that I have taken big step in my filmmaking career. I learnt a lot from active listening and learning from people who are more experienced than me. I will continue to do so and will be actively involved in developing the Raindance community.

I’m a mature student doing the BMus Music part-time at Goldsmiths. I’ve just come to the end of the full-time first year (which has taken me two years). Headline is I’d really recommend this course – it was definitely a good decision to apply. Over the first year I’ve done 5 year-long modules and coming to the end I reckon they have given me a really solid foundation as a musician in terms of my ability to play, write, analyse and think about music.

The sense of community in the building is top notch, the staff are very pleasant and some very sociable. The attractive building and agreeable staff/students make it an extremely enjoyable place to work and hang out. The only negative I can muster up so far, is the fairly random seeming first module, students are doing roles that they don’t understand due to not being taught what they do, and rules for the production seem messy and not completely thought through.

I think that the location and lecturers at BIMM London are amazing, however the campus does not have as much atmosphere as other Universities I have visited. I also do not believe that there is enough spaces for students to spend breaks and study or socialise around the campus apart from the cafe - which is quite small anyway. I think that BIMM London would definitely benefit from having more areas for students to relax and ‘chill’ in between lessons as Fulham Broadway is quite busy and has more commercial areas than places for students to enjoy. Other than that I think that BIMM London is an amazing university and gives students amazing opportunities.
