The uni itself is beautiful and right in the city centre, there is lots to do around Nottingham and it is relatively cheap compared to other areas. Lively food scene and nightlife, and there are lots of parks and other activities in or near the city centre. Support from my tutor and course leaders has been perfect, my one complaint would be the lack of support regarding mental health. My tutor and course leaders have been extremely accommodating and attentive to the needs of disabled or mentally ill students, and counselling is available within the student union, however it is limited to 6 sessions and has a very long waitlist, taking (in my experience) 6 months to get an initial assessment. However, I have made so many friends and received support from both them, and the staff on my course. Would absolutely recommend NTU!

As an international student, one of the most rewarding aspects of my university experience has been the supportive and student-friendly environment. Adjusting to a new country and education system can be challenging, but the university’s approachable faculty, student services, and peer support made the transition much smoother. The staff are always willing to help, and there are numerous resources available to assist with academic, personal, and cultural adaptation. The university’s inclusivity is another key strength. It celebrates diversity and provides a space where everyone feels respected and valued, regardless of their background or nationality. This inclusive atmosphere has helped me build meaningful connections and collaborate with people from all over the world, enriching my learning and broadening my perspective. Furthermore, the welcoming and accessible environment has made a huge difference. From orientation events to student societies, there are constant efforts to make international students feel at home. The campus facilities, online learning tools, and support services are highly accessible, ensuring that all students can participate fully in academic and social activities. If I can point out something that can be improved is Food. It’s funny how something as simple as food can make such a big difference in how “at home” you feel in a new country. Encouraging more international food options on campus or hosting cultural food events could make a meaningful (and delicious!) improvement to student life.

I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials.

The best aspect of my university experience has been the supportive learning environment and access to diverse academic and professional opportunities. The teaching staff are approachable and knowledgeable, and the university provides useful resources that help students develop both academically and professionally. Studying in a diverse community has also helped me grow in confidence and cultural awareness. The most challenging aspect has been balancing academic responsibilities with part-time work and managing living costs, especially as an international student. While support services are available, clearer guidance on financial support, employability opportunities, and tailored support for international students would further improve the overall experience. One of the best aspects of my university experience has been the diversity and welcoming atmosphere. As an international student, that sense of inclusion really matters. The campus is modern, the accommodation is convenient, and it’s easy to meet people from different backgrounds. I also appreciate that lecturers are approachable and the teaching feels practical and relevant to real careers. The most challenging part for me was definitely information overload at the beginning. There were a lot of emails, updates, platforms, and systems to understand all at once, which honestly made me feel anxious at first. However, once you learn how everything works and organize what’s important, it becomes much more manageable. Overall, it is a supportive environment where you can grow academically and personally, it just takes a little time to adjust.

University of Worcester is friendly and inviting , the green spaces are brilliant and really bring a sense of zen to uni life. The students union has a lot to offer and are very supportive. Aswell as this the hangar has everything you need for socialising. The support of staff is second to none . The only thing I would say is the parking is very expensive and sometimes I would prefer all of my course related lectures on one campus rather than split across two

I love the support and population diversity. No discrimination and lovely place. The improving part, should be the student housing. They should be available during weekends. Can in Friday evening and now had to wait till Monday but they are nice. Also be price a bit much that chelmfords campus . I’ll let you on if I notice another thing cause I’m new here

The campus is very green and is just a beautiful place to study and work. There is a really good balance between socialising and work, I’m able to balance playing sport and meeting up with friends with my studies, not having to compromise on much. The lecturers are very helpful and they generally explain things well, although the pastoral and careers support through our tutors could be improved. Generally I am very glad I chose to study here in Nottingham, and would recommend it to anyone looking to achieve highly in both their career and at the same time be able to have a thriving social life and overall good work life balance.

Limited amount of shops in Lincoln, which makes it get a bit stale quick, but is still a lovely city with plenty of things to do. Another downside is the fact it is in the middle of nowhere, you have to get trains or coaches if you want to go anywhere else. However, it does have everything you need as a student, with a good night out as well
