Too much reliance on technology I know this is standard but there should be a little more wiggle room for those who despise using laptops and other technology or struggle to use it as it kills work ethic

Best aspect is the wonderful array of societies and extra curricular activities on campus, including my personal favourite Musicality! Worst part is probably the obscene charge for student card replacements, mine was stolen and I was still asked to pay £15!

Personal Reflection on My Experience at the University of Aberdeen (2024–2025) My time at the University of Aberdeen, in the Artificial Intelligence Department, began with great optimism. I was eager to immerse myself in advanced topics such as machine learning, data science, and intelligent systems, and to learn from experienced lecturers and researchers. The environment initially felt welcoming and intellectually stimulating. However, my experience changed after a difficult interaction with one of my lecturers, who also served as the course coordinator for Machine Learning. I approached him respectfully to discuss a grading issue I had identified in one of my assessments. After review, he acknowledged the marking mistake. Although I appreciated his honesty in admitting the error, this incident unexpectedly affected the atmosphere around me. Over time, I began to feel a noticeable shift in how some people treated me. Certain lecturers and fellow students appeared distant, and a few even avoided interacting with me. On several occasions, I was excluded from group projects because some classmates declined to have me join their teams. This created a deep sense of isolation and disappointment, and I often found myself suffering in silence throughout my academic journey. Despite these challenges, I made a determined effort to remain focused on my studies and uphold my commitment to learning. I continued to engage with coursework, contribute meaningfully wherever possible, and seek knowledge beyond the classroom. Through this experience, I learned to rely on my inner strength, discipline, and integrity. Looking back, this period taught me profound lessons about resilience, fairness, and self-belief. It showed me that adversity, while painful, can also be transformative. I now carry forward not just the technical skills I gained, but also a deeper sense of empathy and the courage to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult.

The lecturers are lively and interactive. We had the opportunity to share our experiences at the student cafe and I love that they took note of students concerns. Generally the campus life is quite engaging.

I find the location, community and campus feel very peaceful and relaxing, and the education provided is good quality and varied. There could be more support for students who struggle to fit in with the student body, e.g., more help and encouragement to join societies or opportunities to socialise with peers.

The staff are easy going always ready to help, the park is beautiful, Peel park, got here September 2025 and so far nothing negative, what impressed me the most is I can just have a quick chat with my lecturers about anything bothering in my education and personal life, as an international student it feels so welcoming, too bad I have to graduate lol

Best experience: a lot of student space when studying out of hours Worst experience: Student food is very expensive, it is well known that most students can not afford luxury goods, as most are not dependent on their parents but are not able to have a full time job, yet to have a nutritious meal you need to spend like you have money, majority does not have the privilege to enjoy two nutritious meals a day and the access we have to food in the university does not help

The staff are incredible, unbelievably understanding and supportive. They want you to succeed and you can really tell. However, Lipman building is constantly broken. The top two floors have been out of service for year and now the entire building is out of commission and not expected to be back until the summer. Surely at this point just demolish the place.

It is rated one of the best universities in the UK which played a crucial role into deciding universities. The campus is wonderful with many facilities for almost every interest and hobby you could imagine, placed in nature among the trees but at the same time it is so close to the picturesque town of Guildford. This town is small but has everything that a student might need and also there are so many things that a young person could do in their free time. I would definitely recommend this university because at just 2 weeks that I'm already here I feel like being at home because everyone is so friendly here which makes being a student here feeling like being a part of a small community, which i personally adore.

Amazing SU, with great alumni that really make a difference. Great life/work balance with some many opportunities. Would recommend bath to anyone who is thinking of joining, or not! Although, the buses are a nightmare.
