What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

I enjoy how easy it is to travel here and the convenience of the location. A lot of good food places and other unis surrounding it which make up for the campus itself being quite small in comparison to many other unis. Often times we get directed multiple times to different places for whatever it is we need help with. For instance, reception or student hub. There is a lot of having to go back and forth and miscommunication in that sense

The lectures in my course are very helpful and always get back to you when you have questions. We have good weeks timetabling where we have online lessons and in person and we start at a nice time as well which gives people time to travel. Our lectures give us PowerPoints which we can also look at when at home for more revision. The university is big and is a couple bus stops from train stations which is helpful as well. There is lots of places to get food and they have a wide variety of things.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

One of the best parts of studying at Roehampton University is the friendly and supportive environment. The lecturers explain topics clearly and are always willing to help when students have questions. The campus is peaceful, with good facilities like the library, study rooms, and social spaces, which makes it a comfortable place to learn. I also enjoy meeting classmates from different countries and backgrounds because it helps me learn new ideas and understand different cultures. The teaching style at Roehampton makes learning easier and more enjoyable. Seminars and group activities help me understand the lessons better, and the coursework is practical, helping me connect what I learn to real-life situations. I feel that the university encourages students to think independently and build confidence. Overall, I feel supported in my studies, and this has helped me grow both academically and personally. Even though my experience has been positive, there are some areas that could improve. Sometimes the workload feels heavy, especially when deadlines are close together. Communication about certain tasks or readings can be unclear at times. More career support, part-time job opportunities, and more flexible timetables would also make things easier for students. However, these challenges are common in most universities, and Roehampton still offers a good overall student experience.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

I just loved the course and most importantly its flexibility with the online platform. As a working mother it was like the golden opportunity to develop my career at the right place with the right people and the perfect time. The result was just amazing, I graduated with the classification of Merit, and 2 years later established my own firm based in Beirut. I am now handling projects for high profile multinational firms operating in the region. I strongly recommend UCEM as one of the most flexible educational systems for personal and career development in the build environment.

The best aspects are that the teachers are helpful and experienced and so it helps with learning, however there could be more help with exam resources such as more practice questions for the exam to get the most support

There should be more support for international students, the lack of staff specialized on matter regarding visas and financial support for international students makes the whole university experience feel more overwhelming and stressful.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

The best aspects of my university experience have been the sense of community and the opportunities for personal and academic growth. My course is taught by passionate lecturers who make the subject feel relevant and engaging, and I’ve appreciated how approachable most staff are when I need help. There are also plenty of extracurricular activities and societies, which made it easy to meet people with similar interests. The campus facilities—like the library, study spaces, and wellbeing services—have also been a big part of what makes it a great place to study. In terms of what could be improved, there are a few key areas. Communication between departments could sometimes be clearer, especially around deadlines and timetable changes. At busy times of the year, access to study spaces can become limited, and more quiet areas or longer opening hours would make a difference. It would also help if there were more practical, hands-on learning opportunities such as placements, workshops, or industry links, as these really enhance understanding and employability. Overall, the university offers a supportive and stimulating environment, but with better organisation and more resources during peak periods, the student experience could be even stronger.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

As an international Environmental Management student, my time at Plymouth has been defined by two things: academic freedom and incredible support. When I faced significant personal loss and financial struggles that impacted my attendance, the faculty didn't write me off they gave me the flexibility to recover and succeed. The course itself is far more than just exams. I was able to lead complex, consultancy-style projects (like my work on Singapore Heat Stress policies) that felt like real professional work, not just coursework. The resources in the Marine Building and library are top-tier for anyone willing to push themselves. Plymouth offers a rare balance: it challenges you intellectually to reach distinction levels, but supports you personally when life gets hard. Highly recommended for students who want resilience alongside their degree.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

I love all the student deals. However, I feel like many of the student activity processes could be streamlined as it seems so overwhelming as a foreigner/first-year. Like, having to book a ticket, but then still waiting in line or an event being overbooked via ticketing that people are dissuaded to come. Then, when the event takes place, the ticket holders don’t even come.

What students say about energy-economics-management-and-conservation

I'm an optometry student entering my third year in September 2024. The lecturers are very nice and supportive; however, the optometry students in Group C are extremely rude, disrespectful, and lack any sort of manners. Many of them speak poorly of you if you fall behind or are slow in your routine, and they refuse to collaborate despite knowing that practice is essential for skill improvement.
