What students say about development-economics

Firstly, personally for me Northumbria University has got both good international reputation and student support. It has the diverse student body and and a good reputation , attracting faculty. The university offers the comprehensive support services including counseling, career guidance, and academic assistance. Moreover, it also has modern facilities. The Northumbria University boasts the sate of the art facilities, that includes well equipped laboratories, library, and study spaces, enhancing the learning experience. Finally the most attractive about Northumbria University for me is that it has endorsed academic excellence and has got many industry connections. Northumbria University is known for its high quality teaching, research and strong academic programs. The university is collaborated with industry partners, providing students with valuable networking opportunities and real world experiences. In my opinion, Northumbria could be improved by strengthening more in career services and introducing more innovative teaching methods. University should develop stronger partnership with employers and industries to provide students with more internship and job opportunities. It should also explore more innovative teaching methods, including online learning tools to enhance engagement and learning outcomes for students.

What students say about development-economics

I have been offered an incredible amount of support from the university so far. I have gone from 52% in my first assignment to 85% in my last, this demonstrates the level of constructive feedback given and the opportunities for academic development at ARU. The professors have always been approachable and are continuously looking for you to advance professionally. I cant fault the facilities, nothing exceptional or awful about them. Aesthetically, the university isn't particularly inspiring and on the winter days it can look especially run down. Running the society's need to serious incentivising, for the last two years the psychology society hasn't been running because there isn't anyone who wants to put their name forward.

Badminton has been amazing. In my first year I was worried and honestly didn’t like the uni. But once I took the risk and put myself out there and jumped into it I found my people. When you go to new places it scary. But that’s what makes it so rewarding.

Tutors are all very personable and the facilities are top notch, The fabrication laboratory has all the modelling facilities you would find in a professional industry workshop. Sometimes organisation may be lacking between module leaders, and submission dates may be overlapped in a way that is quite stressful.

The University of Greenwich has an amazing atmosphere that just feels great to be a part of. Everyone, from colleagues to teaching staff, is friendly and always ready to help. The way they teach is engaging and really gets your brain working. Plus, all the teachers have loads of experience and are super dedicated to helping students succeed. The student help center, library, labs, and classrooms are all top-notch, set up to give students the best possible learning environment. Everything is so well-equipped, providing maximum exposure and opportunities to learn. Very quiet, lots of areas to study and lecture halls are large and comfortable. I would like there to be more activity based societies and for the society website to be updated quicker because new ones have trouble being added and there are old ones that have closed one or two years ago

I would like to specifically commend the study abroad experience that Leicester offers. Not only was it well organised and amazing experience but I met my fiance when I was there and for that I'll always be grateful to Leicester.

What students say about development-economics

The teachers, so far that I have had, have been so wonderful. I started the first term really worried, feeling a bit lonely and emotional but I felt really inspired and motivated by them. I also think the overall values of the university are so good - it gives opportunities and a voice to all and I’m honestly proud to say that I study there. The thing, however I would improve on is communication. Sometimes it’s hard to get in touch with students services and get responses from them or queries raised. I also find personal tutors aren’t really that supportive.

What students say about development-economics

Since the university is so centrally located, there are so many things to do within a 10-20 minute walk, whether it is going to the library, bank, parks, market, or the Quayside. The student support is great. There are a lot of resources available to get help from when you are facing difficulties with your academics or personal life. There is a ton of flexibility and alternative arrangements for assessments and exams. The Student Union is insanely active. Lots of activities organized every week, with a ton of promotion on social media, so you always know what's happening on and off campus.

What students say about development-economics

Birmingham is a beautiful location and the campus is in a lush, green area in the heart of Edgbaston. The campus has lots of study spaces (which was a selling point for me), such as the 24/7 library. There are also plenty of facilities on campus, ranging from its own university merch shop and plenty of places to get food and drink (e.g. Starbucks, Costa, library cafe). It also has its own train station which has been newly renovated, which makes it so convenient to travel to placements or into the city centre with friends. The university is always acting upon student feedback which is good to see, and generally I think lots of students feel well supported by the university and know where to get help from if needed. In terms of improvement, there could be better lighting along the walking pathways surrounding the university (e.g. along the way to Pritchatts Park). Perhaps there could be more facilities within the buildings themselves, such as more microwaves. However, they are only minor improvements.
