I'm an optometry student entering my third year in September 2024. The lecturers are very nice and supportive; however, the optometry students in Group C are extremely rude, disrespectful, and lack any sort of manners. Many of them speak poorly of you if you fall behind or are slow in your routine, and they refuse to collaborate despite knowing that practice is essential for skill improvement.

Also, it is convenient to have a Costcutter on campus and a LIdl within a 10 min walking distance. The campus is quite far from where I live, and if I stay for events, I come home at a later times and my area is unsafe, so I don’t really go to university events anymore. Though I do enjoy the buildings of the campus and the facilities.

NTU offers amazing facilities particularly for the animal science courses. Studying at Brackenhurst you get to explore beautiful grounds and historic architecture whilst provided with on hand experience with animals. Living on city campus you get to experience the classic uni life surrounded by independent clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, etc. Moreover, the endless societies can take you to the national ice centre, the climbing gym or into the peak district.

Best - so much engagement, I love how accessible sport is but there’s also so much going on! The student newsletters are useful and they update ongoing events on social media frequently. There’s lots of study spaces around campus as well!

A variety of student services and supports either in academic development and life is available. Staff and supervisors are supportive and respectful. Kingston university has a great vibe! All of the tutors and members of staff are very friendly and supportive, even if you’re not on their specific course! I’ve found it easy to make friends, and the location has helped a lot with this! As being an art student, I’ve been able to frequently visit galleries in London by short train journey - whilst also being able to experience the serene and quiet nature surrounding Kingston and Richmond. I really love that art school and all of the different workshops there are - however the one improvement would be to have our own personal spaces on the course (somewhere we can leave our artwork/ a space to make our own)! It’s been a bit of a struggle have to haul all of my art projects from the uni to my apartment and back - especially during the winter months when it’s rainy and cold, and I know some many other students have found issues with this too. Other than that though, I think the uni is great!

As a commuting student who drives to uni, the uni is in a great location and the Brookfield car park is perfect for me as my lectures are in Brookfield. The walk between Brookfield and the main campus is nice. The course is organised and set out nicely. More quiet study areas in the Brookfield campus would be nice, as well as information about where to study on campus that isn’t the main library.

The activities organised by the school for MBA students is impeccable. From industry seminars, to skills workshops and immersive group bonding events it’s truly been amazing. One area of improvement would be for the school to partner with institutions for secure placement opportunities for their students, especially international students so their learning experience is robust and seamless.
