The best aspects of the University of Southampton is the great opportunities, e.g. societies and guest talks. I love going sailing on the Solent every other week and frequently running around the beautiful common. Similarly, new guest come to talk about their roles and how to get into their roles which is very beneficial for career development. There are no bad aspects that I have experienced so far.

Here are some top tips for writing comments (e.g., feedback, suggestions, or engagement posts) for the University of Greenwich Student Union (SU) — whether you’re submitting them in surveys, social media, meetings, or course rep discussions. --- 1. Be Specific Avoid vague comments like “The SU needs to improve.” Better: “The SU could offer more evening events for commuting students who can’t stay late on weekdays.” --- 2. Be Constructive If you’re pointing out a problem, suggest a possible solution. Example: “It’s hard to find out about SU events — maybe a weekly Instagram story or WhatsApp update could help.” --- 3. Focus on Student Experience Frame your comments around what benefits students most: inclusion, affordability, opportunities, wellbeing, etc. “More affordable food options in SU cafés would really help students on a tight budget.” --- 4. Highlight What’s Working Too Positive feedback matters — it shows appreciation and guides the SU to keep doing good things. “The Welcome Fair was really well-organized — more events like that would be great throughout the year!” --- 5. Represent a Range of Voices Try to think beyond your own needs — consider different groups (international, mature, commuter, part-time, etc.). “Could the SU organize daytime social events for students who commute and can’t attend evening activities?” --- 6. Keep It Timely Comment soon after an issue or event so it’s relevant and actionable. “The careers fair last week was helpful — would love a similar event focusing on creative industries next time.” --- 7. Be Respectful and Professional Even if you’re frustrated, keep your tone polite — it helps your comment be taken seriously. “I was disappointed that the library café closed early — could opening hours be extended during exam season?” --- 8. Link to SU Goals The SU focuses on things like student voice, community, equality, and wellbeing. Connect your comment to these. “It’d be great if the SU hosted more mental health drop-ins during stressful assessment periods.” --- 9. Engage Regularly Don’t just comment once — stay involved through forums, polls, or volunteering. “I joined the SU’s environmental working group — could we get updates on the recycling initiative’s progress?” --- 10. Keep It Actionable The best comments lead to a clear next step or idea the SU can implement. “Could the SU introduce a suggestion box or online form for quick anonymous student feedback?” --- Would you like me to tailor these tips for a specific purpose — for example: SU feedback survey Online comment section (social media or forum) Course rep meeting Student council or board feedback That way I can adapt the examples and tone to match the setting.

Can’t believe I’m already in my final year of Biomedical Sciences at UEL . Feels like yesterday I was sitting by the riverside at Docklands during my foundation year, watching planes take off from City Airport, it was my little peaceful escape. This course has been such a blessing – from incredible labs and supportive lecturers to the Career Zone and Mental Wealth modules that gave me so much confidence . Being a Student Ambassador made my uni journey extra special (hello public speaking skills ), and the Indian Society always brought the most colourful vibes.. And the location? Perfect. Canary Wharf, the O2, Westfield Stratford – all just a quick ride away. Honestly, UEL has been a mix of learning, growing, and making unforgettable memories .

Canterbury Christ Church University is a genuinely supportive and caring environment that prioritises not only academic success but also student wellbeing. The staff are approachable and always willing to help, and there are plenty of services available for health, wellbeing, and academic support. The sense of community is strong — you never feel like just a number. The university’s focus on employability is another major strength, and it’s reflected in its impressive record of being rated first in graduate employment. The campus is welcoming and inclusive, and the facilities create a great atmosphere for learning and personal growth. Although the university offers great support, it could continue to improve by expanding study spaces and updating some facilities to keep up with growing student numbers.

WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

I find the location, community and campus feel very peaceful and relaxing, and the education provided is good quality and varied. There could be more support for students who struggle to fit in with the student body, e.g., more help and encouragement to join societies or opportunities to socialise with peers.

My Experience Studying MA Social Work at Middlesex University, Hendon Studying for my MA in Social Work at Middlesex University, Hendon has been a transformative and rewarding journey that shaped my academic, professional, and personal development. The course offered a strong balance of theory and practice, equipping me with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to become a reflective and competent practitioner. The academic structure was well organised and focused on real-world application. Key legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Equality Act 2010 were integrated throughout the modules, helping me understand the legal responsibilities that underpin social work. I particularly valued learning about anti-oppressive practice, diversity, and social justice, which encouraged me to think critically about inequality and discrimination in society. The modules under the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF), especially PCF3 (Diversity and Equality) and PCF4 (Rights, Justice, and Economic Wellbeing), deepened my awareness of how social workers can promote fairness and human rights. The lecturers at Middlesex University were knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. Many were experienced practitioners who used real-life examples to bring theory to life. Their encouragement and constructive feedback were vital in building my confidence and understanding of complex topics. They also showed genuine care for students’ wellbeing, which made the learning environment inclusive and supportive. The most impactful part of the course was the practice placements. My first placement was at Mind in Haringey, where I worked with people experiencing mental health challenges. I supported service users through wellbeing activities, assessments, and community engagement programmes. This placement helped me develop strong communication, empathy, and organisational skills. My second placement was with Brent Council, where I gained hands-on experience in statutory adult social work. I participated in assessments, care planning, and safeguarding meetings. This placement gave me a clear understanding of how legislation, policy, and ethics are applied in everyday social work practice. Together, both placements enhanced my confidence and professional capability. Middlesex University’s diversity and inclusive culture made my experience even richer. I studied alongside students from different backgrounds, which broadened my perspective and prepared me to work effectively in multicultural environments. Although the workload was intense at times and communication between departments could be improved, the overall experience was highly positive. Middlesex University provided me with the professional foundation, resilience, and values to thrive as a social worker committed to equality and social justice.

The university often hold different types of activities for students to participate, which allows students to get together and meet more new friends. Also, it is convenient to have a Costcutter on campus and a LIdl within a 10 min walking distance. Meanwhile if student needs help and went to the student hub, it often take a long time for queuing up to seek help.

As an online student at the University of Portsmouth, I found the flexibility of the digital platform to be one of the biggest advantages. The ability to access lectures and resources on your own schedule made balancing studies with work and personal commitments much easier. The virtual learning environment was user-friendly, and the dedicated support staff helped resolve any technical issues promptly, contributing to a seamless learning experience. However, the online format also had its challenges. One of the most significant downsides was the reduced opportunity for face-to-face interaction, which made networking and building a community with peers a bit more difficult. Additionally, while the digital resources were comprehensive, there were occasional delays in receiving feedback or accessing certain materials compared to traditional classroom settings. Overall, my online experience at Portsmouth was highly rewarding, with the flexibility and accessibility being standout features. Addressing the challenges of community engagement and streamlining feedback processes could further enhance the online learning experience.

The tutors are quite friendly, making it easy convenient to understand what is being taught. The advanced practices offers a good opportunity for more practical experience. The worst experience I could say was lack on social activity within the school as this made it somewhat difficult to build good relationship with people from diverse culture.
