Cinematography postgraduate degrees in Northern England

Obviously studying during the pandemic has been a challenge. The school does have a major issue with organisation and communication. However, I’ve met some great people through this course and had a lot of fun. We got to experience filmmaking modules as well as the acting modules which was a great opportunity.

The staff, peer guides, students etc... Have been very supportive! They help whenever they can and provide the necessary information to succeed. The lectures halls and class rooms and labs are very well maintained, everyone is punctual, they are very good at communication and answering follow up questions. Overall the staff and people at MMU are the highlight of the university overall. However some things that would need to be improved on is the washrooms. They're quite small and often extremely wet or sometimes dirty. This is not the case every where or in every washroom however it seems to be a pretty consistent thing regarding bathrooms. I understand and appreciate the cleaner and staff are doing their best though, and it's a mainly student on student issue. However the general size of the bathrooms is small, especially the ones near the stairwells.

Facilities, location & student-life suitability The university is based in Sheffield, a city often praised for being student-friendly, lower cost than many UK cities, and with good transport connections. SHU has modern and extensive facilities, including specialised labs and buildings for engineering, materials, health & social care. For someone like you doing Mechanical Engineering with industrial placement, SHU’s emphasis on applied teaching and links with industry could be advantageous. 3. Relevance for engineering and applied disciplines SHU highlights research and teaching in areas such as materials science, engineering, art & design, health and social care. It also has strong regional industry links (given Sheffield’s industrial heritage) which could help with placements.

The facilities that supports s the class activities are top notch as they help students gain practical experience of what they are taught theoretically. More so, the laboratory support is quite great.

The lecturers are very nice and knowledgeable. There’s great student support available through the wellbeing hub as well as assessment support and tutorials. Many interesting masterclasses with industry professionals are given. The main point of improvement is the building. The windows need to be completely redone due to a mold problem and some of the air conditioners don’t work properly.
