What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

From my opinion I would say ARU is praised for its supportive staff, modern facilities, diverse community, and strong career services. However, areas for improvement include communication responsiveness, consistency in course delivery, better promotion of extracurricular activities, and some accommodation and facility concerns. Overall, it offers a positive student experience with room for enhancement in certain aspects.

What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

So far everything is fine. The lecturers are really helpful and won't make you feel insecure about your knowledge. There is just some problems oh terms of timetable management, but for now everything seems great.

What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

The best aspects would be the wide range of societies for students to join! The worst I believe would be the lack on promotion on what there is to do and what is accessible for students, such as public lectures or different rooms that can be used by students that i’ve learnt recently.

What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

The University of Hertfordshire has great facilities, but there are quite a few unnecessary procedures that could be streamlined, such as booking appointments for even the smallest matters. My experience so far has been disappointing from an academic perspective. I was expecting better quality education, but instead, most of the lectures consist of simply reading from PowerPoint slides, and the practical sessions have been far from engaging. While I understand that self-study is important, not all students, especially international ones like myself, have prior industrial experience or expertise. It's crucial that the university recognizes this and provides clearer, more detailed information about the curriculum, how exams work, and what is expected in terms of assessments. Relying solely on self-study and putting too much responsibility on the students isn’t fair, especially when we're paying for a quality education.

What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

I come from Madagascar, an island located in the Southern African region in the Indian Ocean. In my country, English is the third language, with French as the second, and Malagasy as our local official language. Additionally, Madagascar is one of the most underdeveloped countries in the world. I earned my Master's degree in Theology from our national theological faculty before pursuing a second Master's level course at the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide (CCCW). I am deeply grateful and honored to have been admitted here, and I extend my thanks to the CCCW Board for this opportunity. My journey at CCCW has been marked by several meaningful experiences: Despite my background, I have never felt excluded. I am welcomed as part of the community, and my classmates are genuinely understanding and supportive. English proficiency is required for students from countries where English is not the first language. I am deeply thankful to my professors and classmates for their patience, as they recognize both my efforts and my progress in achieving academic-level English. I have never felt judged, and I am committed to improving daily. Lastly, the support, guidance, and attention from the professors have been invaluable. I truly admire their dedication and the advice they offer as they assist us throughout our studies.

ARU Writtle (formerly Writtle University College)

What students say about biology-and-life-sciences

Writtle university has pleasantly surprised me. I’ve made friends for life and socially it’s been great so far for nights outs in chelmsford and sometimes on campus. The lecturers are kind and supportive, which has made my course enjoyable so far. Writtle is a small and friendly campus, and everybody becomes quite close, it’s so nice to always have others looking out for you. All 3 years socialise too which is something you don’t get at other unis. Accommodation isn’t the best but you’ll find it’s the same for most equine/vet phys/ animal based universities in the UK.
