As a final year student, reflecting I can confidently say this course has been a great place to study and grow both professionally and personally. I love the course and I have made some of my closest friends here in Bournemouth, which has created a supportive and collaborative environment throughout my time studying. The teaching staff are highly knowledgeable and have had so much experience in the industry to share, they are approachable and genuinely invested in our toolkit. One of the strongest aspects of the course is the opportunity to collaborate with the Bournemouth Film School. This has been an invaluable experience, allowing me to work on graduate films, understand professional screen practice, and begin building industry connections before graduating. Overall, this course has been an extremely positive and formative experience, and I would highly recommend it to any student looking to develop their craft! Go for it!

It offers a full range of courses relating to Science. And in the course that I am currently doing, the modules have been changed to be more reflective of what employers want when you graduate, as well as it being reflective of core skills needed for almost every aspect of Biology and Chemistry.

It might not be university specific, but the difficulties in commuting has a big impact. The university has been negotiating with the first bus, however, the busses are always full because of sudden cancellations. Since university is at the top of the hill, I would hope this to be improved significantly so I wouldn’t have to walk up or take an uber up which makes me too tiring to concentrate on lectures.

Overall Experience:Kingston University has been an incredible place to study Fashion Design, and I’m thrilled to give it a 5-star overall rating. Best Aspects:The best part of my experience has been the world-class facilities in the fashion studios. The well-equipped sewing rooms, digital design labs, and access to professional materials like premium fabrics have allowed me to bring my creative visions to life. The location in London is also a huge advantage; being in the heart of a global fashion capital means constant inspiration and easy access to industry events like London Fashion Week. The campus itself is vibrant and welcoming, with a strong sense of community among creative students. The student support services, particularly the career guidance tailored to the fashion industry, have been invaluable in helping me connect with internships and build my professional network. Areas for Improvement:While the experience is overwhelmingly positive, the Students' Union could improve by offering more targeted events and workshops specifically for fashion and design students. More frequent industry talks, portfolio reviews, and networking mixers would further bridge the gap between academia and the professional world.

I attend UOG Francis Close Hall campus and it's so incredibly inspiring. It's a great oldy-worldy historical site and it was really the deal-breaker for me choosing UOG; although my course mates and I were severely let down when we were told we would have to move to Oxstalls campus in Gloucester... we managed to get the union involved but only managed to get it pushed back a year for us, all new students in September for social science will be in Oxstalls and won't get to experience the beauty of FCH. Such a shame. Despite this, the facilities are amazing, staff are equipped with great knowledge and are all incredibly friendly. All students are friendly and light-minded, it's a great environment to study in and socialise. I commute so I cannot speak on the social side of student accommodation and/or going out, but as a commuter it meets all my needs! I really recommend studying here, the lecturers know what they're talking about, and are amazing at illustrating theories and concepts in ways that make sense.

WIFI is absolutely awful and there are many dead zones around campus. How can a top-level engineering university provide such poor internet connection, especially when all of our assignments are internet based and due online? I am constantly searching for places around campus with any useable connection and the VPN speeds when you're off campus are just unusable. It's the year 2024. How have we not figured this out yet? It's absolutely unaccusable. You have the money to build an entire new campus, but can't fix the internet at your main campus? Awful.

Some of the main strengths students often mention are: Strong industry links — especially in areas like engineering, robotics, business, media, health sciences, and aerospace. Bristol itself has a major tech and creative economy, which helps with placements and networking. Practice-oriented teaching — many courses emphasize real-world projects, internships, labs, and employer collaboration rather than purely theoretical work. Modern facilities — UWE has invested heavily in campuses, simulation suites, digital labs, libraries, and collaborative learning spaces. Student support — compared with more research-intensive universities, students often describe staff as approachable and support services as accessible. Location — being in Bristol is a major advantage. The city has a strong student culture, creative industries, music scene, and relatively good graduate opportunities. International environment — it attracts students from many countries, which helps socially and academically. At the same time, there are several ways it could improve: Reputation gap — while respected in many professional fields, it still sits in the shadow of nearby University of Bristol in terms of global prestige and research reputation. Transport and campus connectivity — some students find commuting between campuses inconvenient, especially during busy periods. Accommodation costs — Bristol has become increasingly expensive, which affects student quality of life. Consistency across courses — some departments are highly regarded while others receive more mixed feedback on organization or teaching quality. More research visibility — expanding internationally recognized research could strengthen rankings and attract more postgraduate talent. Administrative efficiency — like many large universities, students sometimes complain about slow communication or bureaucracy. Overall, UWE’s biggest strength is probably that it tends to prepare students well for employment while offering a less intimidating atmosphere than some highly elite universities.

Worst is the limited contact time with professors. It feels really rushed which is unfortunate because there is so much to discover here and it becomes stressful when we feel like cattle who must be rushed in and out. The university itself is fantastic though. It’s incredibly inspiring to walk through the workshops, lecture halls, and library- it feels like you’re in the center of the world. Everything is state of the art and the staff is phenomenal. I just wish they cut less corners in terms of students’ ability to engage with it all.
