The best aspects are that the teachers are helpful and experienced and so it helps with learning, however there could be more help with exam resources such as more practice questions for the exam to get the most support

It might not be university specific, but the difficulties in commuting has a big impact. The university has been negotiating with the first bus, however, the busses are always full because of sudden cancellations. Since university is at the top of the hill, I would hope this to be improved significantly so I wouldn’t have to walk up or take an uber up which makes me too tiring to concentrate on lectures.

Best aspects: The University of Leicester offers a supportive and inclusive environment that really helps students thrive. The lecturers are approachable and knowledgeable, and the small class sizes make it easier to engage in discussions and get personalised feedback. The campus is well-equipped, with excellent library resources, study spaces, and modern facilities that make learning comfortable and accessible. There’s also a strong sense of community, with societies and events that help students feel connected and develop both academically and socially. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: Some aspects could be improved, such as streamlining administrative processes like module registration or access to certain student services, which can sometimes be slow or confusing. Additionally, while the campus has great facilities, certain areas like student accommodation or social spaces could benefit from more modernisation or expansion to meet the growing student population. Enhancing mental health support and making sure all services are easy to access online would also make the student experience even better.

University of Hull has a beautiful and serene environment suitable for learning and even relaxing. The lecturers are very warm and receptive. Things that could be improved: student union (I don’t really see what they do, I’m sorry); the university should make arrangements with more landlords in order to make students living easier; Timetable should be more flexible (we asked for a change in my department but nothing was done)

This sense of belonging makes it easier for students to settle in, feel supported, and engage fully with university life. Alongside this community feel, Lancaster offers a high standard of education. Lecturers are passionate and approachable, teaching is research-led, and there are valuable opportunities for academic development and independent research. The university provides a supportive environment in which students are encouraged to grow not only academically, but also professionally and personally. I have consistently felt supported throughout my studies, including during my year abroad on placement, where I remained connected to the university community despite being away. If there is one area for improvement, it would be ensuring that any changes to curricula or modules are more directly informed by student input. While it is understood that final decisions sit with the university, students should be central to discussions about module content and structure, as we are the primary recipients of the teaching. Feedback on the success, relevance, and impact of modules should play a key role in shaping academic offerings. Overall, I have had a very positive experience at Lancaster University and feel that it provides a balanced, inclusive, and supportive environment that enables students to thrive.
