The campus is quite rural as far as campuses go which connects you with nature and makes it a good, clean and fresh environment to live. The communities and societies contribute to inclusivity, and the accommodation feels connected. Co op is a little too expensive.

We have a lot of practical hours, as well as enough theory taught in the lectures. Because of the nature of the course sometimes the modules feel disconnected, but most of them complement each other. It's very intense because of this diversity, but that's exactly what makes it an attractive subject The only think that could be improved is the connection between the seminars and lectures as sometimes the seminar teachers cover material not yet covered by the lectures. Yes the student is responsible for keeping up to date with the topic, but some added cohesion would make the course flow much better from subject to subject

Everything I need, I have. The reception and maintenance staff do a good job of making sure all problems are sorted, and the required scheduled maintenance are not a bother at all. I think that it could be less expensive considering the situation of a lot of students. However, east slope is some of the best living I've had. Maybe traditional keys would be good so we wouldn't always keep locking ourselves out.

Great resources in the library. Very good seminar rooms (at least in our department in the Freeman Center). The food at the restaurant and even at the Student's Union bar is very expensive and the £2 meals offered are very basic and repetitive.

Very happy with my course and my supervision. Flexible working hours, good opportunities to teach and do marking in a learning capacity. Same as with all UK universities, pursuing a PhD without full-funding is a nearly impossible task. The University would benefit greatly from a scheme where PhDs are employed to work on their PhD, and also take on teaching, marking and admin duties in a learning capacity, same as junior lecturers do. This will also allow them to focus on their PhD research and write-up without having to seek external employment, which can be very time-consuming and usually irrelevant with topic of study, both of which take a toll on the completion of the course in a timely manner - not to mention the level of stress that this creates for a PhD researcher who take a full-time employment to cover tuition fees and living costs, and then they need to find the courage in the afternoon to work on their thesis.
