Great staff and people. I know it seems like a small city but there is lots of things to do. Transportation here is convenient and the city is walkable. Sunderland is a friendly place to study at. I’ve met wonderful people from all over the world here! :-) The first week I came here alone but I was guided by the university on how to set up a phone number, bank as well as registering for a GP. As a Muslim, I find it easy to get vegetarian and halal options too. There are also many mosques in the city. Living costs here are also affordable. Most buses are free for students. A train ride only costs £1 if you are under 22. There are many things to sign up for so you never feel lonely throughout your journey here. I appreciate how the university also looks out for your mental health through wellbeing programs and out of hours hotlines. I feel cared for and safe here. I can’t wait for the rest of my journey with University of Sunderland :-D

I can’t say much as a first year so I’m still being introduced to the course. I will however say that the lecturers are very attentive and easy to communicate with. All classes are recorded so it is easy as an international student for me to refer back to if I feel like I missed out on something in real time. While the courses do feel like a big jump from A-Levels, the lecturers here explain everything slowly and always check up on s during seminars. I don’t feel shy to ask questions too. The lectures here are 2 hours long but a coffee break is always given for every lecture. Classes are not strictly restricted to us listening only as sometimes group activities or kahoot games are played which makes it more entertaining.

I'm enjoying uni a lot. I study Psychology with Counselling and live in a home. The City life is ok and the uni facilities are great. I would love to advice other people to choose Sunderland as it is a lot cheaper than any other cities around UK and the Uni is amazing
