The hype really is justified - a quantum leap forward from my experience as an undergrad at park campus. Don’t assume Gloucester campus are all pretty much the same. Not least, the reaction from potential employers it’s very different. Sure, you’ll be resented and accused of supporting elitism. But that’s inevitable and a small price to endure. And there is significant pressure to perform, but mostly from seeing how your peers perform. Staff are mostly highly supportive, with the odd exception (sometimes very odd!) who’s brilliant but socially dysfunctional. You learn to deal with it. Net result is an environment that has enabled me to achieve significantly more than I thought myself capable of. And in a privileged and cosseting environment.

Serves its purpose very well. The course was completely activity specific for Mechatronics engineering. In depth understanding sections for MATLAB and Python. Superb tutoring, they were passionate about the course. Very much enjoying.

Cheltenham is a really good place to live...loads going on with the horse races and festivals. Lots of amazing little cocktail bars too! The uni itself is really good...great facilities,excellent extra curricular activities and careers advice. Mostly extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff and excellent modern facilities at Oxstalls Campus.

Always loads of events and activities going on.

Cheltenham is quite a small town compared to some others, but there are loads of really cute cocktail bars and pubs scattered about, and at least 3 really good clubs. Cheltenham is an AMAZING place to be when the races are on...the entire town is buzzing!

Lectures were mostly really good, but it would have been good to have a few more guest lectures from external speakers.

Compulsory placement year on my course, which we were given a lot of support and guidance to find. Greatly increased job prospects! Also Degree Plus is a great scheme, and there are always volunteering opportunities available.

Wide range of accommodation to choose from. I lived in the cheapest halls in my first year, but the rooms were huge and the people were great! There are loooaaads of flats and student houses available in Cheltenham, so we never had any problem finding places to live in 2nd and 3rd year.
