I am a mature student at Staffordshire University studying Counselling. I have not been in further education since 1988. It was quite a daunting prospect starting my course, but the tutors and support services ( I'm also registered blind), really helped me to settle in on the course. They have given me the self confidence to believe that I am a valued student and capable of achieving my goal of becoming a Counsellor. IT staff and Library staff that I have met have also been very good and helpful.

Facilities are first class

I haven't had any contact with the students Union but I am aware of the good work they do.

I have lived in Stoke most of my life, so I like it here

I'm not a member of any

I have really enjoyed my course which is down to the great lecturers

I feel that when I have finished my courses I will have really good job prospects

This doesn't apply to me, as I am a mature student, and I live locally.

The lecture’s are amazing, go into depth detail and learn you a lot. There is plenty on and around the uni to do - entertainment, food etc… the days you are in uni are clear on your timetable, the support from teachers is great, if you need anything or not feeling your self there is plenty of support! They put there all into it. So many amazing things about this uni. The only thing that could be improved is another car park!

They do a mixture of in uni and online sessions, 2x days in uni and 1x day online/week.. normally. The classes are well taught by amazing lecturers. If you don’t understand anything they have taught they will go over it again. In Nursing there is a lot of information to take in but it is all well explained which makes it a lot easier!
