The location of the uni near the city center is perfect. I've been doing fairly well in my course. Newcastle as a city is quite friendly and welcoming to international students. I've made some amazing friends through the student union. If there is anything I could improve, it would be the weather, but I guess that is just wishful thinking.

The best aspect of my course is that I get to choose what I write. I always wanted to write horror and mystery and the lecturers have been very supportive with their critical feedback. The only thing I struggled with in my first semester was the fact we had to write a script for stageplay, which I'm not good at. I would have been better prepared for it if it was mentioned in the course description on Northumbria's website.

The staff are supportive and keen to help.
