The environment provided and the facilities such as the three buildings and two floor libraries provide a lot of space and plenty of resources. However it could be improved by providing a bursary for individuals to help buy books on the curriculum, that are not in the library as some of these can be quite expensive and as a student money isn’t always easy. It’s also convenient as it’s not too far from the train station and the city centre.

I think an important thing to consider is students pay a lot for university and sometimes it’s not always easy for individuals who are commuting, especially when there are cancellations due to weather or accidents that may occur. I think in circumstances such as this, when provided with evidence the institution as long as the work is provided by students if they email it over should still get there attendance. Especially when they can forward work over they may have already completed prior to the session. As the option is currently attending another session, which is hugely inconvenient when a lot of individuals work part time and can’t just rearrange schedules without notice. Additionally, student timetables are a huge inconvenience when released with only a week’s notice. As stated above a huge percentage of students have part time jobs and a lot of these jobs require at least two weeks some even a months notice before contracts can be changed. So releasing correct time tables the week before the teaching year commences is ridiculous, considering the amount of money students pay to have a course prepared and delivered to them. Furthermore, the lack of flexibility with timetables, at no point does it make sense for students to have breaks which are 4 hours long between sessions, when there are other sessions that would conveniently fit better into their other allocated days on their timetable. Moreover, the careers assistant at university is not helpful. I am in my third year and most placements or opportunities for jobs for when I finish my degree require applications to be put through before the end of the first semester otherwise it is a years wait. Having being put in this situation myself and having communicated with 3rd years from last year I have been made aware of this and have actively looked myself. But individuals that don’t know about this are completely stuck when they get to the end of their course and have had little to no guidance on how to apply, where to apply, or even when deadlines most commonly are.

The university is really nice great location by train station and staff always available to talk too.
