Not clear instructions, work with loads of people

The lecturers are supportive and some good above and beyond at giving advice on projects and coaching as well as mental well-being. However, the board of chancellors who are the heads of the university have been less than ideal at dealing with serious matters and should take note from the lecturers about student well-being.

Again, some lecturers go above and beyond and I have no criticism for them, but there are others that fail to provide useful feedback. There is also a huge building dedicated to the arts and the acting students never seem to be taught in there.

In first year I stayed in Limes Court and was charged a ridiculous fee for the apparent ‘state of the bathroom’. I’m not a messy person and my housemates at the time all chipped in when it came to cleaning. We were honestly just confused by this, and when we disputed this with the uni, we were basically told to accept it and pay. When we looked at our contract it stated that a cleaning team would come to do thorough cleans of the houses every three months or so. This never happened. It was clear that they had not updated the contract post covid. To be honest, I didn’t mind this as I am more than capable to clean myself, but when told that we were not doing a good enough job when they themselves claimed that professional cleaners would be helping with the upkeep of the houses, we were a bit miffed. There was also a housemate who claimed that my housemates and I would have noisy parties until two AM, when we were actually just chatting at a normal level in the kitchen. She never spoke to us about it and emailed the uni straight away. The representative for the uni who emailed us was nothing but rude and instead of addressing us simply to let us know what was happening, he was extremely accusatory and issued us warnings. Needless to say, it was a disappointing experience.
