Very good student support system

Make the most of the facitilities as they are excellent

The location is amazing and it’s great student experience. I think they should look at the shops and cafes on campus as well as the accommodation as it is very expensive and they are gradually removing places that are more affordable to students with less money. Especially coming from a family that doesn’t have much money it would be useful if there were cheaper places to eat and stay on campus.

It has been a difficult three years with the pandemic and strikes and I feel as though it could have been handled better. I don’t think there has been enough recognition of the disruption that I have had to deal with in the three years of my course. I can’t speak for other courses but I have spent a lot of money on books that we never studied and a lot of money on a course that requires a practical learning. I feel as though I have paid for a service that I have not received.

The location was good as it was close to the train station. The room allocation was not great I struggled greatly during lockdown and was not allowed to switch rooms despite living with people who did not wish to mingle as a flat and so I felt very lonely. I think more needs to be done in these cases as it is your first time away from home and when you can’t see people that can be hard to cope with. The price I feel was expensive but affordable however there was only one other place that was cheaper than where I stayed and the condition of the accommodation was not good. I think more cheaper accommodation should be available. Prices have gone up drastically and I would not be able to afford the accommodation I stayed in if I were to have joined uni this year.
