Tell us about your overall university experience so far.

I’ve loved studying here and wouldn’t want to have gone anywhere else. I’ve learnt a lot and I feel like I will be equipped to graduate next summer. It is quite an unstructured course so best for people who can work relatively independently, however you improve at this as you progress in the course.

Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

They are very good, however I think it could be even better. Some printing facilities are a bit expensive and I would like bigger scanners to use. Also I think abobe suite should be offered to students.

Student support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Academic support is very good and ual provide counselling sessions for students if they need it.

Students' union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

Very good.

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

Housing can be found near to it and there are food shops everywhere.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

Very good! There are lots of societies that you can get involved in.

Lecturers and teaching quality

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

I like the most that it’s taught in a very creative way. There’s no style promoted, the tutors encourage everyone to develop their own individual way of working. Also everyone produces very different work which is lovely! What I least like is the teaching in year 1. I think it would have been good to have learnt more technical skills to equip us for 2nd and 3rd year.

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

They do career weeks where there are talks about industry and employability which is very useful. Guest lecturers also come in. Also 2nd year students get to sell their work at Premiere Vision in February. There are industry projects in 3rd year that tutors encourage you to get involved in.
