I think, while having to do two semesters entirely online was a challenge, the overall experience was still a good one. I do feel like I learned a lot this year and lecturers really made the most of it in terms of having to move online. We had guest speakers on Zoom, and more options for one-to-one sessions. I would overall still recommend Strathclyde as a university.

The facilities are good. The library is big, and although some of it may be outdated, does provide really good study space and materials. I also really like the gym.

The student support seems good. I can't comment too much on it as I have only had limited exposure to wellbeing services etc. but the course admin team are always good at responding and the wellbeing services are well advertised.

The courses are good overall, but it did feel like there wasn't much variety before going into third-year. Some of the stuff from 1st and 2nd year for both subjects was very repetitive and we were given few options to choose from (only from 3rd year onwards were there several options. Some of this has changed as I heard that some second years can now choose different class options in 2nd year already). The support, however, is great. I have had brilliant lecturers and tutors throughout my studies who have been really helpful and I do feel in terms of content and contact hours the course is good. The course content is also very interesting and I do feel like I have grown a lot through my time at university.

I am still doing my undergrad so can only comment on this partially. The careers service is really good in terms of the support it provides. However, I do wish courses would have more of a practical element to them or more direct support in terms of getting internships and work experience or even include some mandatory work experience - especially if is a practical field. However, lecturers (especially for Journalism) are really good for sharing and promoting opportunities students can apply to and actively encourage students to attend careers events.
