Glasgow Uni combines the best of the old and the new. From the gorgeous gothic main building to the new facilities springing up all around campus, there is no shortage of places to study. The library is huge and has a varied collection that is bound to help your learning, and gives some of the best views over the city. My only grumble is that there are not enough food places on campus, but the campus it in the city so its not difficult to find places to eat. Teaching is great, engaged lecturers listen to and encourage students to develop their skills, and the courses cover some of the most challenging and current issues facing the world. Student support is available for whatever you need, whether that be brushing up on rusty skills, building your job skills and preparing for life after uni, or support with disability or difficulties during study. There are countless societies on campus to cater to your social needs, great as a way to meet other people and share your interests. If there isn't one that suits you, there is support to start your own. The city itself is a vibrant cultural centre and the largest city in Scotland, which means there is a huge range of bars, venues, gigs, concerts, and culture to explore.

Classes are primarily taught in person, though for heavily subscribed classes like research methods you might be taught online. Most classes start with a short lecture on the topic, followed by a discussion between students and lecturer based on questions you are given in advance. At postgrad, the expectation is that the bulk of work is done independently by the student, but the lecturers guide you through that very well. Assessment information is available for each class is available from the start of the class, so you have ample time to prepare. Tutors are all available for office hours and by email should you need help outside of class hours. One of the things I like is that we are emailed opportunities throughout term time, including on campus jobs, internships, publishing opportunities and so on.
