Bath is really great as a place to immerse yourself in your subject and be surrounded by peers who like to work hard and also enjoy what the city has to offer. Teaching staff are usually really approachable and willing to help when you have any questions. Worst aspects of Bath are that as it is mainly a sports-driven society university, non-sports societies are not very big or celebrated.

Post-covid, teaching is now mostly in-person with a few exceptions (guest lecturers who can't travel to Bath for example) and this is much better to get to know your coursemates and engage more with teaching. Politics is on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of contact hours, with around 6-10 hours per week in your final year. Lecturers have weekly office hours which are good opportunities to book in a slot to go over anything you didn't understand in class or get some advice on an assignment.

Polden is the most expensive accommodation on campus but offers a very clean, modern and big space for students living there. It includes a spacious kitchen, large lounge area and en-suite bathrooms in every room. It is one of the self-catered halls on campus which is beneficial for those who value greater freedom in meal-times and eating what you want.

I think it's a great place to be, University of Bath really helps you be a balanced, well-rounded person. It allows you to go beyond academics and be involved in lots of sports, societies and other activities. The fact that we get to do a placement year is awesome, as it helps you figure out what you want to do and makes you much more employable. Some lecturers aren't too great - they know a lot but they can't seem to bring their knowledge to us very efficiently (which is a shame).The facilities are amazing but just a bit small, especially considering all the new students we are taking on (e.g. the library and the gym)
