University is such a great experience whether that is regarding education, career aspiration but also me as a person. Going to university was for me the first step in becoming an adult and becoming my own person. I found it exciting to leave my confort zone and go to a new place where everything is different and so many opportunities are offered to you. I have always been independent so living on my own and planning my life was something I immediately enjoyed. It is a great feeling to be able to learn about subjects that fascinate you in great facilities, a beautiful campus all this by meeting new people. What I also enjoyed at university was the opportunity to join societies and clubs where I met lots of likeminded people and great friends. I was also able to try and learn new sports from surfing to skiing or from athletics to tennis. There are also many volunteering opportunities and support to think about your future career which was something that I struggled with. Finding your paths can be stressful but at university it becomes excited. You can be anything you want and you are given to means to try everything out. There is so much support available that whatever problem crosses my path, I know I am not alone and I can find the means and help I need to solve them. What I found hard at university was to be sure that this was my place and this was were I wanted to be. It is also difficult to leave home and sometimes feel lonely. The world seems so much bigger when you leave your own little universe. Money is also a big concern for everyone. I have myself struggled a lot with Student finance loans coming through on time and the stress with the administrative process. I think making this process easier for student would be a great way to reduce stress espacially at the start of the year. Starting on a good note is very important.

My course is very interesting. Learning about anatomy, sports and injuries is everything I am interested in. It is a huge opportunity to be offered dissection learning sessions and hands on placement opportunities. However, although a masters is obviously hard work, the workload here isn't very well spreadout making it very difficult to handle. There is a big amount of stress and anxiety as we are taught long modules and assessed only once in an exam counting for a 100% of that module. That is very little room for error.

Loads of support available, especially in settling in during welcome week. Student services range from laptop loans to property consultancy for student housing. Staff are all so passionate and willing to nurture. Facilities are relatively new for my course which is a huge bonus. Hundreds of societies to get involved with outside studies which are a great way to chill out and do something you enjoy. Halls on campus are well-maintained and any issues are resolved very happily and quickly. Possible improvement could be the variety of self-catered halls as most halls on campus are catered.

Very broad range of content and sets you up well for further study or work in the professional world. The lack of placement year is a real downside for me, however. The Professional Development Portfolio is a good supplement and there is support on offer to find experience but I think a year in industry would be far more valuable. Teaching quality is very high and several lecturers throughout each module means that there is variety, but all in similar delivery formats and sticking to learning objectives. Little talk of career prospects yet, but it’s still only early days for first year. I’ve had very little tutor contact time in my first year but haven’t had any issues so not a problem for me personally. Subject facilities are mostly quite new, and others are well-maintained.

Great central location on campus, very convenient for all courses. Safety is okay, but at the beginning of the year previous Cripps residents still had access to our block via their student cards. Room allocation is seemingly random in terms of block but I have no complaints. Wifi via Eduroam is sufficient for working, social media or streaming. Cost of halls has increased in the last few years and this is a definite downside for me. While there are more affordable halls on campus, I still think that the current rate for Cripps is rather pricey for 2 meals (plus £25 weekly on meal card) and minimal cleaning of rooms (once a month). However, room sizes are generous. Any maintenance issues are resolved quickly and with a friendly approach.
