Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
The University staff are always approachable and around to help with any problems. The students union is always holding events across the three campuses, especially at Avery Hill and there is a range of societies available to join if this is what you are interested in. The bus service between the main campus and every hill where I study makes it an easy journey if I need to visit the main campus library or facilities but AVery hill has mostly everything you could need- including a Starbucks. One of the biggest issues is the timetabling which at times can be hectic and is constantly being changed before the term starts but the course leaders try their best to get this sorted. Communication from the university is lackluster for the most part but students in other years are easy to contact and have been very helpful in many situations.

My course has an average of 10 hours of contact time in a week which gives me plenty of time to catch up on any work I have missed and to complete assignments. Traveling to uni with this little contact time can be painful at times especially when there is only one lecture on that particular day but the course content and professors make it worth the journey. In my course, practical sessions are the most exciting and allow me to gain hands-on experience in using the equipment. Lecturers are always available to talk to and set up meetings with as well as being speedy in replying to emails in most cases.
