I transferred from a different university to Birmingham Newman and absolutely love it, they are all so friendly and helpful and have made my transition so comfortable. I made lots of new friends and have been so much more motivated to get involved with the community. It could be improved by just hosting more party events and even sober ones for students.

The course hours are more than I got at my last university and scheduled really well so I’m not being spread really thin over multiple days, they lecturers are so invested in th subjects they are teaching and only want the best for you, which keeps me really motivated to learn.

It was really clean and comfortable when I arrived, the maintenance team are really quick to respond if you have an issue and really friendly too. The room is value for money and going into friends accom I would say theirs was too. They are really well assigned and the beds are comfy.

Facilities and support within the university are very good offering lots of opportunities for higher educational learning. The library has a great range of resources and reading offering great information for learning. Some buildings are run down, and limited parking for commuters like myself. The prices of food is dear which is not suitable for a student especially during these tough times.

The course is all face to face learning which is very helpful especially during essay times so you can ask questions. Due to the nature of being a sports course face to face contact is vital. Some lectures could be done online especially for people who have to commute from a far.

Due to the university being close to the city there are a variety of facilities and things to do making it great for students.
