The campus and the life on campus is fabulous, but there are times where I feel the uni could have more facilities and activities to keep one occupied. The uni should definitely have some more food outlets so it’ it gives a wide range of food to choose from. Overall, it is amassing to be here and part of the Essex family

My course is beyond perfect. Every lecture and every concept is delivered perfectly and I do t think there is really anything going wrong.

The halls are perfect and everything is usually in place. The flatmates get along well and so does the whole building

The best thing about my university is the research environment which prevails here. There are many renowned research institutes, like Institute for Social and Economic Research, which are based at university. Secondly, the university is located in a very peaceful area of Colchester which has reserved its cultural values from the forces of globalization. However, the only thing which needs to be improved is its administrative rules. It is very strict and rigid. It needs to be more flexible to accommodate students.

Alongside the usual classes, the department of sociology coordinates with other departments to organize different regular seminars which makes it more research-oriented department at university. It might be of this reason that it has been ranked at 55th rank. Similarly, the modules are updated and tutors are efficient in linking it with existing debates in social arena. While on the other side, the department should facilitate their students in gaining first hand experiences at different organizations through gaining internship opportunities.

The Ivor Hall is unique piece of architecture constructed on an elevated ground encapsulating the most beautiful scene of university. These are completely sound proofed halls allowing teachers to use non-traditional ways of teaching in it. As it is little away from the squares, there should be a small cafeteria to serve students in a better way.
