The facilities within the university are all of a good standard, however often the teaching is below par. Lecturers often have difficulties where lecture rooms are double booked, out-dated content is often provided as self-directed study and part time students are often forgotten about.

I enjoy the mix of self directed study and in person lectures, however often the self directed work is of a poor quality. Recorded lectures that are over two years old are often used with some outdated conversations, allocated work missing/ not uploaded to folders and generally not a lot of communication.

I love the main library and the cheap gym membership. My lecturers are leaders in their field and respond to me questions and suggestions quickly. The university provides bespoke placements and invests a great deal in my learning. The facilities are state of the art and the integration of modern equipment and technology has revilutionised the learning environment. I receive an abundence of extra-curricular options that have already helped me to network and establish myself within my future career. The cafeteria on the main campus has a good mixture of healthy options and a really good coffee shop. I love the regular puppy play and exotic animal dates. The universities has strong social media platforms that give great tips for students that may be unfamiliar with opportunities in the local community and neighbouring cities. The university also holds regular BBQ socials in the quad on campus with both meat and vegan options. There seems to be lots of sports teams and societies, and the kitroom does annual sales (£1 per item) of discontinued gymwear. I wish the gym had a steam room. The SU has a good venue but it's rarely used, it would be a real boost to the SU if they offered free rental to students for the purpose of hosting gigs/film showings. The parking can be a bit expensive as it's managed by an outside agency, however, there are plenty of free spaces dotted around neighbouring streets. I'd like to see a greater connection between the university and trusted local landlords/agencies to help house students, particularly international students that may find it harder to settle into our community. The same could be said about local businesses to help all students find part-time work and volunteering opportunities. I'd also like to see things like charitable initiatives like canned food drives, blood banks visiting the campus, etc.

We have industry leading professionals within our lecturing team and frequently see impressive guest lecturers. All of the equipment in our skills suites are representative of the equipment found in healthcare settings and skills trainers are truly excellent, with great experience. There's a good blend of online and in person learning and lecturs are held at appropriate hours, leaving plenty of time for self-directed study. There's enough on site to allow a full day of studying without feeling left wanting. I can arrive early and head to the gym, attend lectures, have lunch, study on site, take a break at one of the coffee shops, head to the library, and wind down at the SU bar before heading home. The placements are varied and many are distant placements which are provided with accomodation. This allows me to visit other healthboards in far reaching corners of the country, where I can stay for six to eight weeks and immerse myself in the local culture. It's greatly improved my quality of life and allowed me to network to an extent that I couldn't possibly achieve without distant placements.

USW is extremely diverse and I love that. There's a huge amount of student housing surrounding the university, making it really easy for young students. Pontypridd is a quiet town which is great for those that wish to focus on their studies, but Cardiff is only a short train journey away and has everything anyone could want.
