I have really enjoyed my uni experience, it has definitely been a challenge as I am a mature student and travel in. I therefore didn't get to experience it to the full extent. Im in my 3rd and final year and so far have had lovely lecturers who have been really supportive and delivered amazing content. Although the third year has been really hard, I have enjoyed the modules more as I was able to choose them all which meant they were tailored to my interests allot more. On campus there is an abundance of coffee shops, snack shacks and info points at each hub. On first encounter the campus was daunting as was quite big, I still haven't explored the whole place. I do think a bit more could be put in place to support mature students and those with other commitments as it is a hard experience to navigate under deadline pressures and general pressures of life. For example some lectures are not recorded which can put allot of pressure on when life is not going in linear direction . I suffered quite badly with anxiety in the first 2 years and the mental health team were amazing but there hands were tied in what access I had to support such as ILP's as I needed to have recent diagnosis from my doctors, this put allot of stress on as it meant I was not able to access the full support unless I had evidence of continuous doctors appointments which I did not have the time for, I think the university need to have a more reflexive approach for mental health support as not everyone experiences it the same way and I was no able to access support when needed because I had not accessed support from my local GP sue to varying reasons (time constraints being one). Other than that I genuinely have loved my time at Exeter University and have met so many lovely people and friends.

Each module varied in how they were delivered, but I have had a very good experience with all of them. That is not to say that they are not challenging. I am taking a Criminology BSc and part of my degree is integral to Q-step programme, this is a computer science and deals with allot of data and stats. It was extremely challenging in the first year and became slightly easier in the 2nd year. It is described as being a course that is accessable to those who have no previous experience in programming. I would however argue that this is not the case especially alongside other modules as the programming is so intense it requires allot of time and commitment to be able to progress and get a good grade which I personally feel is not achievable as the course in programming would need to be a stand alone one so you can apply yourself to it. The lecturers are great and very kind, but I do get the impression they are delivering it at a level as if you had some prior back ground in the content. Many of the people on the course ending up dropping out as I think it was not what they were expecting and it brings your grade down quite a bit. I was able to take modules outside my discipline, such as Biology and chemistry (forensic science) this was a really exciting module and had loads of guest speakers and professionals who came and did talks. There wasn't really a worst aspect of my course! unless you count deadlines 😂

Support for students is very efficient and the campus has very nice green grounds.

Some teachers aren’t very helpful and don’t lead explained lectures.

The location is easier to access campus but harder to access the city. My rooms had a few issues regarding window seal and shower but has been fixed.
