The whole onboarding process of the uni is great and the students and staff! Getting used to the building isn’t hard either as theirs a lot of signs around. I love it.

Buckinghamshire New University is a great place to study. I am a first year student there, a student ambassador and a senior resident alongside the accommodation service. There are so many facilities and extra support services such as financial aid, academic aid, disability services, counselling services, career support services etc that are all free and available for the students to use. I have had many good experiences, but to round it up I would say definitely making friends from different backgrounds as well as starting a course with supportive lectures and course leads. What can be improved is more activities for those of different ethnicities and backgrounds, because especially for new comers they may not be able to socialise without something that they may already know or have experiences with so just to make it easier for them.

My course is psychology and criminology . Its a really in-depth course, and I am blessed to have very helpful lectures that help me both in class and out of class time. Since this course is one that I enjoy, I haven’t had much bad experiences on the course, but as of now it’s all been a great experience.

Living in halls has been an amazing experience. I have learnt so much about living an independent life, as well as learning so much about other people from different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. What I would say that it can be a bit difficult, especially if it’s your first time away from home and then having to live with people who come from a different living circumstance so it may take a while to settle, but all in all it’s definitely a part of the university experience. Like I said, before, I do work alongside the accommodation services at Buckinghamshire New University as the senior resident, so in terms of the safety and the property management it is kept to a very high standard and has been that way for a long time.
