the good thing about this university is the support they offer - i was going through a difficult time a few months ago that affected my ability to submit an assignment, so i contacted my tutor and he was extremely supportive and guided me on what to do. i then got amazing support for the sociology department in terms of submitting an extenuating circumstance form and then was offered mental health support which i agreed to - that was also very helpful the only thing i can think of to improve is the location because i have to walk 20 minutes from the train station but that’s so minor so i can’t really complain too much :)

some of my teachers are not as helpful when it comes to supporting me because either they take weeks to reply or when they do reply, it’s very blunt or not helpful even when i asked again. however, a lot of my other teachers provide a lot of support in and out of class and reply to emails quickly

The University of Essex is a great facility to learn. There is available plenty of space to learn, relax and socialise. There are resources available, such as computers or printers. The only thing that could be improved is some fractions of the student union, such as vteam (responsible for voluntary work).

I have nothing negative to say. The course overall is exciting, and the lecturers are friendly and approachable. It is easy to communicate with them, and they are always very helpful.
