The campus is gorgeous and has a really cozy feel. Since it is a bit of a smaller uni, you often run into people you know while walking around campus which really adds to the community feeling. As a Masters student, I really appreciate that the campus is in the small town of Egham because it is quieter, but it is close to London so you still get so many opportunities to explore and enjoy yourself. In my course I have half of my classes in the London campus and half in the Egham campus and I think that is the perfect mix. I have also had fantastic experiences with my professors - you can get to know your professors well and meet with them if you put in the effort, and it makes the learning experience so much more personal. My only complaint as a postgrad would be that most of the events are marketed towards undergrads, but since undergrads make up most of the student body I understand why that demographic would be a priority. I have found the university support staff to be really helpful so far as well, so I would highly recommend Royal Holloway!

Masters programs are tough and doing it in one year full time can be pretty overwhelming, but the faculty is incredible here and it truly is an interdisciplinary course, which is so invaluable. The course tutors really care about your progress and go out of their way to help you, and the course modules have all been really interesting for me. I think you would take out what you put in to any course, so as long as you put the work in you will learn and grow so much as a person. Additionally, since the course is partly based in London and partly in Egham you get so many opportunities to visit related archives, libraries, and museums, and there are tons of lectures and events to attend that help you network and learn even more.

Penrose Court definitely isn't the nicest hall available for students, but for the price it is definitely worth it if you are willing to give up some luxuries such as onsuite bathrooms.
