The uni is in a great location and generally the facilities and student life are good. However, the lack of seats in study spaces. The new buildings have so much open space and not enough seats - especially not enough seats that are actually comfortable for sitting in and working. Nobody wants to sit on the floor all day. There is also a lack of connection between staff and students. I am in my final year and the only communication I have had with my academic advisor has been one single email. I am always surprised to hear from students elsewhere that they actually build relationships with staff.

I understand that time is limited, but course modules are so big so that we can really only study a limit number of areas over the course of our degree.

The location was great and genenrally I always felt safe. This was probably more due to the location and being constantly surrounded by students than the actual set up - the front door was often left unlocked. However the security staff were great. It was very expensive. Especially considering that half the blocks were refurbished and half were old, but everyone had to pay the same amount.
