Best parts: my academic tutors are extremely supportive and have been able to support through both academic and personal development whilst at university. Worst parts: I sometimes have experienced challenges in receiving support with actual people. It’s great lots of stuff is online and accessible however sometimes it is beneficial to speak to someone in person.

Disaster and emergency management lectures are some of the most exciting and engaging lectures I have attended. It helps that the cohort is small, however the lecturers have really encouraged connections within the course to ensure people are emotionally supported. Majority of the time content is easily accessible and lecturers provide adequate responses to contact via Aula or email. Sometimes I find it challenging when assignment briefs do not provide adequate information to help meet the brief. I would appreciate more detail in how they expect certain tasks to be achieved so that it isn’t a shock when receiving results and you haven’t quite got the grasp of the coursework.

Management in my first year was appalling, I was dismissed by staff on multiple occasions when seeking help and advice for a particular issue that had occurred. Towards the end of my stay they became more supportive. Facilities wise we paid for the use of facilities which for 75% of my time we could not use due to covid yet we’re expected to pay the same fee. Furthermore, it was quite isolating due to the strict guest rules even when covid-19 restrictions were relaxed

Good opportunities and facilities, student life requires effort, and student union could use some work, but overall it's an enjoyable and educational experience.

It's fun and interesting, but at times there can be weeks of dry content.
