Useful facilities, especially the library, which is open 24/7. This can prove especially useful during assignment season. There are different sections to the library, depending on your requirements, such as the quiet study area for independent work, or the main library where there are many communal seating areas, perfect for group projects. The location of Francis Close Hall campus is very central, only a 10 minute walk to Cheltenham town centre, which makes it a desirable location. Not to mention how aesthetically pleasing the campus architecture is, also feels like a welcoming and inclusive environment. I have managed to make a group of friends within my course, which is especially great considering I am a very shy person, naturally. Overall, I would recommend the University of Gloucestershire as an excellent study environment, though I would recommend to carefully consider accommodation.

There are a variety of modules, meaning there is something for everyone, within the spectrum of course interest. Some lectures can be easier to engage with than others, depending on how they are led and presented, and the student's individual preference. Tutors within my course are supportive, particularly during assignment season, helping to address and clarify any student issues, course or otherwise related. are not always found, support is generally provided. However, it can be difficult to distinguish between what is essential to the course and what is anecdotal, within lectures and seminars.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
From personal experience, the living accommodation at Hardwick Campus, a 5 minute walk down the road, was a highly unpleasant experience. Having been placed with seven other students with incredibly different lifestyles and values to me, made my living environment incredibly challenging, causing me to leave university twice, in my first year. I found accommodation staff to be very unhelpful and dismissive, group behaviours aimed at tormenting one flatmate was not dealt with seriously at all. I had meat smothered on my vegetarian food deliberately (there was a separate vegetarian shelf in the fridge everyone was aware of), deliberately breaking my kitchen stuff, banging on my door for no reason, in the middle of the night, filming me out of windows to put online, just to name a few incidents. By the end of first year, I was forced to use the kitchen downstairs and across the car park, since I no longer felt safe in my own. That being said, I would like to point out how uni accommodation is luck, and the accommodation setting itself wasn't too bad. Hardwick is a great location, very near to Francis Close Hall campus and central Cheltenham. The rooms are light and spacious, mine having a view over the park, with three large windows. En-suite bathrooms are desirable, though maintenance take a long time to arrive. Foer example, I had an issue with a broken light chord, which took several weeks to resolve. Shower water pressure isn't great, either, especially for the amount of money. Internet connection always reliable and fast, large desk space, wardrobe/ chest of drawers storage and under-bed space. Overall, acceptable accommodation, as long as you get okay flatmates.
